The moment you have control of Sora, even before you have control of him, _jump._ Roxas immediately unleashes a spiral of light that will take you for a large amount of damage (one fifth or so of our health bar at level 50). Roxas fights hard and plays hard; his combos are intense and difficult to break. Save your MP to heal yourself while he's comboing you in the air; use Hi-Potions whenever you can.

When Roxas starts levitating into the air with a circle of Nobody columns around him, he becomes temporarily invincible. He'll send out a wave of light and spheres will chase you around the room -- keep jumping running jumping running during this attack, and use Aerial Dodge if you've leveled Master Form. He's very fast and attacks quickly -- he summons the columns a lot, sometimes in a wall that he sweeps across the arena at you, sometimes shooting around crazily. Try to duck these, but they don't do much damage, and on the plus side, Roxas has a bad habit where after a special attack, he'll jump across the arena and land right next to you. This is your opportunity to open a combo on him -- and once you combo him, it takes him a while to recover. You can get two combos in without penalty, but in the third one he'll almost always break your combo with an attack that will hit you fairly hard, so you may want to stick to two.

Occasionally, as he rushes you, you'll have the opportunity to enter Duel Bout with him. This is the same reaction command as on his servant Samurai; wait for the text ("The End") to appear on one of your menu commands, and try to hit it. If you succeed, you send him flying with massive damage, and if he succeeds -- well, the opposite. After a successful Duel Bout you gain two phantom keyblades hovering over Sora's left shoulder. Use this time to your advantage, because those keyblades will up your damage a good deal.

His attacks don't change as he gets low on health -- he just does them _faster._ But towards the second half of his health bar (only if he's done Duel Bout previously) there will be a second reaction command option (needs more research, we could never get it correctly).

For winning this fight, you get an HP up bonus, and a new skill, Combo Master.
