Money trouble?! Think before making large purchases!

Gah, monies.

Over the weekend I wrote someone a check for $1500 for undisclosed reasons and then did some research and realized I'd been ripped off. Also, since all of my money is at an internet bank that does not provide me with paper checks, I had to write it from my physical bank, where I do not have that much money. And now I realize that I made a mistake in connecting the two banks, so it'll be later in the week before I can transfer money from internet bank to physical bank.

And I call the people and they're going to write me a refund check for $400 to be delivered this afternoon, and I'm like, "Great! Then I'll deposit it today and have over $1100 so my undisclosed reason purchase will be safe!" Only wrong because they're still going to cash the original $1500 check.

So I wrote myself a big check from my internet bank and it should arrive in the mail tomorrow, and I'll deposit it and the $400 check and hope that the bank doesn't hate me.

Sob.

Be careful about taking your money out. I had someone steal my wallet and use my bank card as a credit card at the mall. While I stil had some money left, I closed the old account and opened a new one thinking that my money would still be okay. WRONG! Because both accounts had my name on them, the bank was able to pull money out of my new account to pay the "credit card" bills that the theives had racked up. This overdrew me, and I was charged a crapload of fees, but because it wasn't me that withdrew the money, the bank replaced it all and went ofter the girl who stole my wallet. They ended up finding out who it was because she went back to one of the store and tried to return the boots she bought. Dumb ass. And now she owes me restitution, but hasn't paid in a few months, so now she's being violated on her probation...

Good luck.
