Luke undergoes massive character transformation and I liked him okay before when he was a spoiled brat, but I guess I like him more after when he's sweet. But I still hate Luke/Tear. The game tried way too hard to convince me they were a couple. Long before either of them found anything about the other palatable, the party was going "TEEHEE IT'S A LOVER'S QUARREL" like every time Luke essentially told her she was a whore and could shut the hell up. There was a point in the game where they asked you if Tear was your type and I gleefully said no, hoping for the Symphonia system where I'd get to choose my girlfriend; and another point where they let me decide which member of the party was most important to Luke, and I happily went for Natalia. But these choices had zero effect on his twu wuv with that woman who treated him badly when she should've been sympathetic and just suffered in silence when she should've slapped him across the face dslkfjslfkj and I have gone into a rant about that pairing.

BUT, I would like to assure you. When you have a chance to acquire Tales of Vesperia, it is not like that. At all. In fact, I am baffled by the people who swear up and down that the main male character and the main female character are obvious OTP. There's been no romance so far -- and in fact, (as of where I am) there's been sort of anti-romance. They've been set up as analogous to a legend with a brother and sister. It's tremendously refreshing. (Also, she's kinda gay, especially for Rita, and he's kinda gay, but only for Flynn.)
