Habitica is handy that way. I'm thinking of making a new challenge specifically to address Backloggery (e.g. not starting a new game until a previous game has been finished; not letting games sit unplayed for so long that Backloggery makes them turn grey; etc). The restarting trap is so insidious and evil, because there comes a point where you just have to, but then... eventually you just end up needing to do it for like the fourth time, and... orz
I still haven't finished FFIV either! FFVI is classic and FFVII is what it is. If you're emulating these games on the computer, you can use cheat codes, you know. Some people are not a fan of them, but in my opinion, beating a game is an achievement regardless of whether or not you had to grind endlessly to get there.
