Hana is feeling bad about their childhood again, because she wasn't the best friend anyone's ever had, wasn't even really interested in the same things Sakura was interested in.

But she felt like, if she was working to protect someone as noble as Sakura, that she could become "a samurai just as great -- no, greater -- than my father was." Aww, daddy issues. Hana says that she already knew she wanted to be a samurai like him, but Sakura gave her a clear objective.

After a beat, Sakura says that when she was asked to choose a retainer, she picked Hana right away, even though others objected because of her youth and girl parts. But Sakura insisted on Hana, and eventually they let her.

"Why did you fight for me so hard?" Hana asks, and Sakura remembers something she has to do elsewhere right now, bye Hana

5/5, Sakura you know how shippy that fleeing looks, don't you?
