A series of unfortunate events, really

Bad day...

I spent all last night reading the most boring play ever in the history of ever: it pretended to be a re-enactment of the Japanese war trials after WW2, and aside from the occasional interesting point, it was literally about as boring as actually reading a transcript of the proceedings. I read 60 pages of this damn play and half of what I read was debate about what exactly the term "war crimes" defines, and the other half was interrogation determined to reveal whether or not the French witness was in the Vichny army. Why should I even begin to care.

When I was done I read some of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by the Harry Potter-ishly psuedonymed Lemony Snicket, and finished the first book. Rather amusing and sort of dark. If he had been subtly blackmailing the fourteen-year-old girl into marrying him solely for his money I wouldn't have minded so much, but he honestly appeared to intend to have her as a wife, and not just have her suffer an accident a few days later. That's... creepy. Will be reading the second book.

Then I went to sleep, at nearly 5am, completely forgetting about my logic homework. I woke up during a bad stage of sleep to wake up during, so I puttered about and then went back to sleep for a quick nap, which usually makes me feel better -- gives me a few minutes of oblivion in which to gravitate my brain out of the deeper sleep-levels. Only Jess and Alicia decided not to go to their morning classes for various reasons, so nobody thought to wake me, and I missed the class I read the goddamn boring play for.

I woke up at 1pm and said to myself, holy crap, I have to do my logic homework because it's due in 15 minutes. I spent the next two hours copying Val's homework, and scanned it and emailed it to the professor.

The only good part of today is that by the time the rush was over it wasn't quite 2:30pm, and I was free for the rest of the day.

I thought to poke you before I laid back down, but didn't. I was confused by the fact that you laid back down twenty minutes before we needed to leave for class, so I thought that you weren't going to go to class. Sorry!

At least the worst part's over?
I just got the first Lemony Snicket book out of the local library. (Completely forgetting, of course, to pick up the fifth Harry Potter book until literally this very second, you may feel free to harangue me later if you like.) Creepy sounding indeed.

I feel your pain.

Aww. Bad world, leave Kay alone.

A Series of Unfortunate Events rocks my socks. If only because it makes blatant fun of all the PC children's lit out there. And I love the snarkiness and general overtures of doom. ... I just love depressing things, really.
