but the tears brightened my day

Today I got a card from Jenn! *loooove* It's so cute.

Today I realized that our fears about the package TJ had sent me were totally correct. Because he had put "GOA Instructor" on the front of the package, the Albany mail system was wondering if I was a professor. But the problem was compounded because he addressed the package to Kay Willow. So they were looking for a "Professor Kay Willow," and then were further confused when there wasn't a "Kay Willow" at the address he sent it to. Do you not know my last name after two years? Could you not ask? You are a dork. *death*

Today we had a great time molesting TJ's gift, the brilliant "Non Campus Mentis," which contains actual quotes from actual college students actual term papers, and such highlights as "The British defeated the French, but at gastronomic cost." (Freudian slip?) It is much appreciated, even if you are a total dork. We read selections aloud all evening.

Today I put my lecture notes for logic into a .rar file and emailed them to myself, and went happily to the library to print them out. But you can't download to the library computers. Ten minutes later I'm in LC 4, attempting to log onto a computer there, only they won't let me log in -- my SSN, my UAlbany info, my PIN, my password, are all invalid. Ten minutes later the staffer on duty gives up and sends me to LC 3, where they don't require you to log on. In LC 3 thankGod I download my file successfully, only to discover that hahaha the lab computers don't have WinRAR. Ten minutes later the staffers on duty tell me to go to LC 27, and talk to the ITS guys. The IT guys were using sane browsers like Firefox and happily offered to download my file and switch it to a zip and then let me print it out from their computers to one of the LCs -- they would've printed it out free of charges, but I literally had 100 pages to print. So I laboriously ordered each of the 22 password-protected PDFs to print at LC 4. Ten minutes later I am in LC 4, very curious to know why only one of my 22 password-protected PDFs is queued up, and I go back to LC 27, where my IT guy winces and tells me that LC 4 has two printers, and I have sent my pages to the one of which is the Super Shiny Printer of Color Goodness and it prints for 50 cents per page, which means my lecture note spree would be $50 instead of a measly $10. So once again, I laboriously ordered each of the 22 password-protected PDFs (who the hell is going to steal his incomprehensible notes on constructing interpretations in LFOL anyfuckingway?!) to print at LC 3 this time -- although my IT guy was kind enough to say, "You know... while you finish that, I'm going to go to LC 3 and check for you to make sure those are queueing up right this time..." -- and then finally I went to stand there, dying inside, while $10 left my life and 100 pages filled with impossible near-math spewed out at me. Ten minutes later I ran, through the bitter frigid cheek-stinging cold, to [livejournal.com profile] gatafairy's dorm, where I was 50 minutes late.

Today was a bad day.

Today I wondered if I had the kind of talent necessary to write a drabble such as [livejournal.com profile] maladaptive and I briefly discussed regarding Zeke and Leon. It would be awesome if I could, but it would make no sense to anybody. Even to Leon.

Today I found a song that I listened to a dozen times thinking, "Golly that's kinda sad." Then I realized this song is totally Rhys and Morcant, and the moment I realized that, I couldn't listen to it without seriously wanting to cry because I'm a huge wuss. My screen is a bit blurry as I type this, swear to God. [livejournal.com profile] zinniazayda be online OMG.

Tomorrow after my logic final, and burning my $25 of useless logic notes, I'm totally working on fan soundtracks for my own characters and stories. I already have like four songs for the Tabitha OST ("You in solemn resplendence I hold; your sins into me, o my beautiful one") and I'm 90% done with the Daniel-storyline soundtrack ("You strut your rasta wear, and your suicide poem, and a cross from a faith that died before Jesus came -- you're building a mystery"), and now a King's Shadow soundtrack?! God I'm a loser. But I will do it, I swear.

Yay, I cheer for the postal system. XD This is the first year I've ever done christmas cards on time! *does a happy little dance* I was so afraid they would arrive after people left for vacations, and then I would be all shamed when you got them in like mid-January, lol.
