AIM is the devil
[14:50] Alicia: I can't zip
[14:50] Kay: ;_;
[14:50] Alicia: so ... get on normal aim if you can
[14:50] Alicia: I'm on casey's puter
[14:51] Kay: Ugh, AIM. I'll have to download it. SORROW. *does anyway*
See, I use Trillian as my substitute AIM. It loves me. Usually. But it doesn't love folder transfers -- only zips.
[14:51] Alicia: ^_^
[14:51] Alicia: you can delete right after
[14:51] Alicia: the cheese is worth it
[14:52] Kay: Yeaaaah. XD
Or so we thought!
[14:55] Alicia: you done yeeeeet?
[14:56] Kay: GodDAMNit, I told it not to install weatherbug but apparently it tried anyway and had a fatal error installing something. >_< I HATE YOU, AOL.
[14:56] Alicia: 0.0
[14:57] Kay: GODDAMn, and the five popups!
[14:57] Alicia: *stabs it*
[14:57] Kay: Rawr. ;_; Hurry.
[14:57] Alicia: *more*
Now by this point, the four people I am having conversations with each have two windows -- one in AIM and one in Trillian. TJ sends me a direct-connect request and I get two pop-ups for it. Then AIM has helpfully given me two IE pop-up ads, and their stupid news ticker, and some more crap I don't want... And then!
[14:57] Alicia: why did you decliiiiine?~
[14:57] Kay: It never popped up. By the way, hint for you: AIM is the source of Internet Explorer pop-ups.
[14:58] Alicia: SavinSilk declined request; the file will not be sent.
She tries again.
[14:58] Kay: IT DIDN'T POP UP.
[14:58] Alicia: *headesk*
[14:58] Alicia: Okay, I'll dl a zip program
[14:59] Kay: Try again.
[14:59] Kay: I set it to auto-accept.
the tofu froggie wants to send file C:\Documents and Settings\Kay\My Documents\download\savinsilk\Richard Cheese.
[14:59] Alicia: The file transfer was unsuccessful. SavinSilk has cancelled the transfer, the file will not be sent.
(Note: For best results, you and your buddy should use the latest version of AIM.)
[14:59] Kay: ... it just told me the tofu froggie is not accepting file transfer requests.
[14:59] Kay: WHAT?
[14:59] Alicia: wtf?~
[15:00] Alicia: I'm zipping the bitch. <3
INDEED. So just in case you missed that glorious bit, AIM three times refused to accept folder transfer requests, even after I told it to accept things automatically.
[15:01] Alicia: OKAY
[15:01] Alicia: I attempt to send zipped
the tofu froggie wants to send file C:\Documents and Settings\Kay\My Documents\download\savinsilk\Richard Cheese.zip.
And suddenly!
[15:02] Alicia: WHOOOOOOOOOOO
[15:04] Kay: Oh god, AIM, I hate you.
[15:04] Kay: It automatically accepted the ZIP file. Which means I can't accept it through Trillian. Which means I can't log off AIM. ;_;
[15:05] Alicia: warg
[15:05] Alicia: I'm sorry
[15:05] Alicia: but it's only for a while
[15:05] Alicia: and then no more!
[15:05] Alicia: :D
[15:06] Kay: And until then two pop up windows for each of the four people talking to me, all of them blinking madly, my cluttered taskbar folding in on itself, and me going INSANE from pop-ups. ;_; AIM. I LOATHE YOUR SOUL.
But I still have this Trillian window "Do you want to accept this file...?" hanging around. It's cluttering up my already cluttered bar. I try to have it connect, hoping that if it does I can cancel the AIM transfer and log off the damn thing, but nothing happens for long minutes. So finally I cancel it.
AIM, very confused, cancels its working transfer too.
[15:06] Kay: WHAT.
[15:07] Kay: Fuck you, AIM.
[15:07] Alicia: go back to trillian, and i'll send again
[15:07] Kay: On Trillian. Sonuvabitch... >_<
[15:07] Alicia: sorry!
[15:07] Alicia: ;_;
[15:08] Kay: Yeah, it's not your fault. But AIM is the devil. O_o
No one is ever allowed to complain to me that AIM is in any way superior to Trillian -- even if they want to send folders. XD

Wedgies for some...Miniature american flags for others!

person: You have AIM?
me: No. I only have MSN.
person: ...a MSN user...you're not from the U.S., are you?
