Someone should shop for me

Oh god, why can't I just find a belt.

I was in like three different stores last weekend. I found belts with all sorts of decorations. In all sorts of styles. With all sorts of exorbitant pricetags.

I don't need it to be decorated or styled. I shouldn't have to have a different belt for every sweater I'm going to wear. I certainly shouldn't have to pay $40 for a thin strip of leather.

The only thing it needs to do is hold up my pants.

If this continues, I will find rope, or tear up my fugly red linen dress and use THAT as a belt.

You could always bribe Lucinda to knit you one. (http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTboulderbelt.html) (Okay, yeah, it's a men's belt pattern, but you could have one in basic black and then you'd be set.)

Pacsun sold me my favorite belt. It's canvas, green, with metal holes. It comes in a wide assortment of colors and it so incredibly NEUTRAL. I don't think they still sell them, though. I wish I'd bought it in more colors. It matches every-fucking-thing, from t-shirt and jeans to turtle neck sweaters and $300 coats.

Maybe you'll have luck there?

Send me ten dollars in whatever form, and I'll buy a wonderfully simple stretchy nylon black belt from my local Wal-Mart and mail it back to you post-haste. Or should I just get you such for (insert winter holiday of choice here) ?

Target probably has some belts that are inexpensive and around what you need.

You need an EPIC Belt of Kayness!

Sadly enough I was thinking the other day how I needed a belt for my new pair of jeans, but was too lazy to go out looking for one that wasn't sparkly or hot pink or all metal or something. *sigh*

Target? Wal-mart? K-mart? If you go to cheaper/poorer neighborhoods, street vendors might have them for $3. I go to the Lower East Side and get them for like $3 or $4. They're a pretty sturdy, leather-like material with metal holes. I think those are pretty standard. Just buy like 10 of them and your set. ^^; I’m sure Boston’s gotta have LES-like place. It’s cheaper than even the places I mentioned first.

I bought three belts at a 100 yen store in Japan. They are all plain; one in green, one khaki and one black. They are among my favourite investments, ever.

...not that I'm recommending you to go to a 100 yen store in Japan for your belts. :)() But maybe a 99 cent store or something here in the states will provide as well...?

I checked it out and they don't have quite what I wanted, but their belts are surprisingly palatable. XD I may stalk them.

...if I'm still begging for a belt close to the holidays, I may take you up on one of those offers. XD

...want.

*tells alicia that in-between kancho attempts she should stalk the local 100-yen store... and then pay thirty times that in shipping it to me*
