Do I win at dorky, or what?

The Whoville Public Library (WPL) was established in 1957, and it includes two branch libraries, the Lorax Memorial Library and the Mulberry Street Library. From the very beginning the local community has been strongly behind the library system, and they boast one of the most effective outreach programs in the Seuszerland. In 1991 the central library began undergoing renovations to add on an extensive children's room, and in 2004 the WPL building was upgraded to a high-speed wireless connection, paving the way for further technological development.

The Board of Directors decided unanimously in January 2006 to begin a virtual chat reference service in a further effort to increase local outreach. The library's mission statement is, "A person is a person, no matter how small, and it will not do to ignore them at all." In order to further this goal, it was vital to the WPL to establish a connection to distance patrons who might benefit from library services.

It probably says something about me that I read that and think, "Dude, I want to get the pr/fundraising person from that library to work wherever I'm working." I mean, given the initiatives they've managed to pull off. Stupid underfunding of public libraries.
