I'M MAKING A VIDEO GAME EEEEE
Okay, so, the last week/two weeks have not been fun. There's been desperate last-minute assignment-ing, studying, harrowing arguments and crying fits, and mass trips of depression -- not all mine or even necessarily related to me. But that's all over now. My life is wonderful.
Because I'm making a video game.
RPG Maker 2000 on my computer and I'm feeling fine! Of course, when I said to myself, what do I want to do with this RPG, the first person standing in line to give me a "What ELSE would you do with it?" look was Sasha.

Sasha. The hero. Something of a spoiled brat. He runs away at the beginning of the story, like a spoiled brat, but gets caught up in family affairs and dragged back against his will.

Vadim. The best friend. A definite goofball. He works in the pub near where Sasha lives. Just like in Chicago! Vadim tags along with Sasha because they are practically the same person and can't be separated.

Marilyn. Vadim's girlfriend. Sweet village girl. She runs the inn at that same town. She'll only join the party once, as a computer-controlled AI, but she'll always be around.

Jillia. Sasha's older sister. Shameless flirt. She's a mage who has taken up residence in a city far from her home town, but when she hears Sasha's run away, she drops everything to chase after him and take him down a peg or two.

Yelena. Sasha's mother. Russian, Jewish, harpy. (Not literally.) Sasha runs away to get away from her.

Peter. Sasha's father. ...Senile. We'll run into him once or twice, so he can talk in his vague and disconnected way about game events, and give Sasha a useless bauble or two.

Coyote. Sasha's lov-- I mean, broken paladin. Can't equip too much armor or use heavy weapons or any of that jazz. He's around to be truthful and mysterious and for Sasha to emote with... also just like in Chicago.

Alison. Coyote's friend and ex-lover, like a sister to him. She, Vadim, and Sasha are very nearly triplets separated at birth. In real life she is a completely mundane computer programmer, which means she is a dork, so she demanded ninja rights in the game. Hence, Alison is now a ninja.

Daryl. Rebel punk in Chicago, rebel princess in the RPG. Although she's not actually making a rebellion... everyone thinks she is. Probably, she hates you.

Nathaniel. Vampire lord. He didn't find a portrait he particularly liked, but settled for untying his hair and taking the one above, provided that he was allowed to have Jillia in the end. Jillia had no objections. She likes the hair.

Bini. Nathaniel's tagalong. She'll be an optional sidequest character if you bring Nathaniel along when you go to recruit her. In other words, just like Chicago!

Theo. Scholar, student, dork. He'll be an optional sidequest character if you bring him some funny thingamabob he likes enough.

Brenda. Theo's girlfriend. She'll join with Theo. She's a little overweight, a great cook, very friendly, and a powerhouse in battle... because I said so.

Franklin. Very pretty. We don't know what's going on with him yet, but...

Take, his boyfriend. Isn't he adorable?

Katrinka. Sasha and Jillia's maternal grandmother. She's Plot.
Not pictured here are Edward, an utterly normal human being dating Alison in Chicago; Jonathon, an utterly self-absorbed human being who was Sasha's ex in Chicago; and Sergei, Katrinka's son and Sasha's uncle.
Oh, and before I forget...

The nameless catgirl villain, as per Tony-san's request. XD Hope you like.
And, for a final bit of dorkdom before I let you all go...

Coyote and Sasha. I WILL find a way to put that into the game.
Working on this is really hard... but makes me gleefully happy.

Catgirl!!

Did you do that on purpose?
Re: randomly, a million years later:
On the other hand, Takehiko is not my fault at all. Neesama created him for Franklin. ^_^ If he happens to be an earnest Japanese student from the WW2 era, then that's a remarkable coincidence, but Chicago!Take died of a wasting disease in like 1937 and -- in both Chicago and in the game -- he's Franklin's boyfriend AND a ghost. (It turns out, ghosts can be remarkably solid if they'd really really like to have certain persons lay hands upon them.) Chicago!Take is very shy and withdrawn, so he isn't much like PlanetLadder!Take in the particulars.
I never really noticed that before, though. XD How funny~! Because Take was created solely for the purpose of making Franklin not be lonely. How great.
Incidentally, I'm translating volume 6. >3 I'm up to about page 30 by now, and it's reallyreally interesting...
