Cell Search

So I'm looking to ditch my current absolutely terrible Cingular service. (You had four bars and tried to place a call?! here, listen to your dad say hello before we abruptly lose all service and drop the call.) (I get dropped calls about twice a day. and I usually only get two phone calls a day, sometimes less. the average still works, though, cuz on high call days I can be dropped as often as four times!)

The phone I'm looking at is this guy, and I'm thinking about going with Amp'd Mobile.

Does anyone know anyone who has Amp'd Mobile, or have any experiences with it?

Does anyone who knows cell phones better have any thoughts on that model?

Motorola and LG phones are pretty good, in my experience. The phone I have now is an LG and I've liked it so far. The next phone I'll probably get will either be an LG or a motorola. I don't know anything specific about that particular phone, but I think most of the people who have LGs or Motorolas like them pretty well (I mean the rating on it was 8.6, but who knows how many people have input that).

I don't know what it's like out in Colorado, but I have Verizon, and I absolutely love it - I've only ever had a dropped call a few times (in my basement, of all places - but then I don't get such great reception down there) and for some random reason it thinks I'm roaming in my University Library, but those are anomalies (I actually can't remember the last time I had a dropped call). Also, whenever I travel I've always been able to use my phone and get reception (once I got reception in california where my california friends couldn't get reception on Tmobile). the only exception to this has been Charleston, WV. It was like there were no Verizon towers in Charleston (I had service, but I was roaming). I don't know why XD;

But uhm...yeah! I don't know anything about Amp'ed Mobile...I don't even know if I know anyone with it, because the major providers out here in Iowa are Verizon, Cingular, and US Cellular.

I have a Motorola right now that is exactly like that one except minus camera (I can't take a camera on work campus). I like it, a lot - it's survived drops on the concrete, tosses across the room, all sorts of unnecessary abuse. The only negative I know of is that I had a Motorola two phones before this one that sucked ass (the blue flip phone with the cam, it was horrid - I couldn't hear anyone on the other side of the phone with the volume at max).

I use TMobile and it works fine here mostly, except in our apartment for some reason.

Good luck with the phone search!!
