Xanatos for world dictator
TOTALLY RANDOM
We watched a lot of Gargoyles today and I just have to note that I find our protagonists to be adorably dumb. Yeah, Xanatos does some bad things to people, but the dystopian future that Goliath saw actually had absolutely nothing to do with Xanatos. It wasXanatos's evil AI crazy Lexington Puck's illusion designed to make Goliath fall into despair.
On the other hand, what we do know of Xanatos is that when Puck said to him, "You can have one wish from me, or a lifetime of service from Owen," Xanatos chose Owen.
That is not the decision of the kind of guy who is so short-sighted that he would own the world and run it into the ground without noticing or caring. Xanatos's one obsession has been immortality (and I guess owning the world) and when Puck offered it to him, Xanatos knew that in the long run, having a smart, competent, and powerful servant would be worth more than taking the quick and easy route to immortality.
Also probably he knew that Puck, being the Puck, is not one to grant wishes without strings attached, and it would not be the kind of immortality he'd like. But that only makes it better.
Xanatos is not the kind of guy who would let his dreams eclipse the practical things. He's already demonstrated that he doesn't.
He's awesome.
Also I've shipped Xanatos/Puck since I was like, 14.

Owen/Puck is so awesome. I am temporarily possessed by the urge to write like three fics for him and his progress into awesome.
And I did write a porn drabble for
pornandkittens last night. It was timely.no subject
Did you ever see the Goliath Cronicles? Those were pretty terrible. I was sad when it was all over though.
I loooooooooooooooved how many Star Trek people did voices on that show. Heh.

Goliath Chronicles was done after like, most of the cast of Gargoyles had moved on, so it was entirely new writers, animators, etc. The creators consider it "non-canon." Which is good, because evidently it was laaaame. XD Although I guess there's a new comic book series being released concurrently, that picks up after the last "canon" episode.

Good, I only saw some of the Goliath Chronicles, but it felt like bad fanfic.
And who were you slashing?

Regarding the 'strings', remember that Puck chose to go to Xanatos (and Fox) because he was impressed by them. The 'string' of this particular wish option was probably in the way he approached him itself. He may have thought that by forcing Xanatos to either lose Owen or the Puck-wish/immortality he might end up depressed afterwards.I mean, what's eternity without someone to keep your shit in order?
Compare to Demona, who we can certainly tell Pucky wasn't too fond of. :P
I actually just got re-obsessed with this series recently, and have been desperately pimping it to Amanda, who has only seen one episode of Goliath Chronicles. :P
The comic that just stated running is full of awesome. Also Illuminati.
Greg Weisman, the original series creator (that got terminated upon the move to ABC for Goliath Chronicles) and commander-in-chief of the comic, has stated that the only episode from GC that is considered canonical for the purposes of the comic is "The Journey".
That means the clones are still alive! :D

For some reason the Weird Sisters also seem to hate Puck. Like, a lot. No idea why.I read that it was awesome, and I'm thinking about picking it up. X3

Daddy loved Puck best, that's why.Probably because Puck seems to have a genuine respect for the mortal races' capacity for unpredictability and growth. The Sisters, and much of the Third Race in general, seem to view humans more as tools or amusements at best.
More interesting Oberon definition (pertaining to the Gargoyles version) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oberon's_children#Oberon

I probably had a thing for Xanatos, he was so awesome. But Brooklyn was my favorite of the gargoyles, no contest.

Xanatos is awesome and so practical. I loved his proposal to Fox. I have to say I never really liked Owen/Xanatos, mostly because he and Fox were so awesome together. But Owen as a character is fantastic.
