Interactitory thoughts provoked by RP

Thanks to libekory, I've decided that I enjoy Ulquiorra/Orihime very much, but I want interaction and tension and not romance of any sort. Seriously. Kissing of any sort is crossing the line. But we like the way he can stare at her fixedly while she is a crazy person, keep her from doing physical damage to either of them without moving more than necessary, etc.

It's just that they couldn't be together. Ever. I thought about this. Can't see it. Because Ulquiorra will never touch Pet-sama inappropriately, and probably wouldn't admit even to himself if he cared about her, and Orihime will never care for him because (listen carefully) he is a bad person who tries to kill her friends.

I also would enjoy Gin+Orihime. As Libby noted, she's Rangiku from the neck down, and that pretty much makes her immune to any sort of bad-touch, but she would totally amuse him with her spastic ways. They were also a great deal of fun, because unlike Ulquiorra, he was happy to respond to and otherwise encourage her chattering.

In short, RP is fun.

((Hinamori and Hitsugaya are captive in Hueco Mundo. Aizen invites them to a dinner party as his latest method of torture.))

Hinamori: *she lets out a slow breath as szayel apollo's attention turns elsewhere, then picks up her fork. she pointed the server at the fish because it looked vaguely familiar. across the table to orihime* Do you get this a lot? How can you eat?

Orihime: They usually bring me food in my room. *smiles a bit, but that's really enough of an answer. she doesn't get a lot of it, but doesn't doubt that it goes on. all she's seen since she got here is infighting and cruelty*

Hitsugaya: *he takes the fish, too, because ichimaru took the stew, and aizen took the rice. he slices the fish into pieces and then sets down the knife, letting his hand drift below the table to find and squeeze hinamori's*

Gin: *as if he's only just now picked up on her commentary, he gives hinamori a concerned smile* Ohh? Are we putting the ladies off their meals with our antics? How terrible.

Hinamori: *only hitsugaya's hand keeps her from starting or flattening at that so slightly edged observation. she holds on for a moment, and says without looking at him* I'm sorry to interrupt your dinner with it.

Orihime: *she-- doesn't like that tone, or that look on the other girl's face, so she chimes in brightly* Well, I mean, it is a little difficult to eat. I mean, everyone's talking and the tension is so high, it's like watching TV while you're eating, you just get distracted and forget about being hungry! At least, that's what it's like for me.

Gin: *blinks at her, headtilt*

((Orihime: *lalala only an idiot would touch her, is immune!*))

((Hitsugaya: *--idiot. he's surrounded by idiots*))

Orihime: *a little breathlessly* My favorite thing to watch during dinner is sports! *she glances at the group across the table as if expecting them to follow that up in kind*

Gin: Sports? *brightly*

Ulquiorra: *only looks at her from the side of his eyes*

Orihime: Yes! *she can keep this up all night!* My favorite is tennis, everyone always looks so energetic playing tennis and no one ever gets tackled or hurt. When we're playing soccer in gym class, I'm always so excited to get the ball but someone always steals it from me, so tennis is even nicer because you take turns and no one ever gets disappointed like I do. In gym class. *she pauses for a moment to observe her rice, but she's already torn through half of it*

Hinamori: *watching her talk, and her own lips turning up just from watching. she doesn't have any idea what orihime is talking about, but she's very -- enthusiastic about it*

Gin: Tennis is the one with the short skirts and the rackets, right? *innocently musing, like he's trying very hard to remember something from long ago~* You can play in pairs or not, and there's a net or something, and you hit the ball at one another?

Orihime: *eyes wide* Yes! You go back and forth and try to keep the ball in the air and you can't let it go out of bounds-- *so pleased that she's not just talking at air, she takes a practice swing in demonstration that nearly slices open her arm on ulquiorra's horn*

Ulquiorra: *catches her hand automatically, and releases it just as quickly in a direction not his head*

Gin: *smilesmilesmile* Have you played, or do you just watch?

Orihime: *settles back down with an apologetic look at the espada and then, to gin* I don't really understand the scoring so I kind of made up my own rules. I call it tenniball, it's like a combination of tennis and dodgeball, and you get points for every time you hit the opponent! Tatsuki-chan never let me play. *rueful*

Gin: That sounds like it would result in an awful lot of bruises. *very, very pleasant and polite; he doesn't even curl his voice around bruises to imply they might be pretty*

Orihime: *seriously* It's a tough game. Not for the faint of heart.

Gin: *to aizen, all smiles* I like her. She can stay, too. *no poison for her!*
