(no subject)

This year, I'm going to put more things on a schedule, and stick to them. I will say "Mondays are the days when I work on The Last Dreamer," then on Mondays, do that. I'll say "Every other day the litter box must be done," then do that, every other day. This is important. :(

I am going to keep track of my spending. Every. day.

I'm going to do better at work. If I don't get a raise, I will look for another job, even though it will be hard to motivate myself.

I will get my driver's license and I will get a car. I have the money in the bank for it.

I'm going to write more Last Dreamer and hopefully keep up my momentum on Another Side Another Story.

And I'm going to devour these Temeraire books. They're awesome. :D

The Temeraire books are full of awesome. I really need to get the newest one that came out not too long ago!

I'm enjoying them very much, they're solid, fun reads. Usually a book in stiff language like this would feel like it should take longer. :3

My recommendation for spending is careful budgeting. I tend to budget down to the week (or even the day), and it makes things a lot easier for me to manage.

Good luck!

Ditto to this. I told myself "$20 a week" (since I'm at college and really only spend it on food), and I've been saving a lot of money.

Also, YAY TEMERAREIRUFFULE.

IT'S GOOD. Not the budgeting, the Temrererawr thing. The budgeting doesn't work so much. (See above.)

Also, go Roland's mom!

LJ is tetchy. I've gotten this comment in my LJ three times by now.

I. Love. Jane. Novik has a bad habit of making me love every character, but Jane is something else.

Not LJ -- the internet where I am. :\ The fail is epic.

Oh, okay. I got the first comment and then I got two more to keep it company in the thread.

I actually have no luck with making a budget. It's fine for me to post up a list of things I'm allowed to spend and not spend, but I don't always abide by it, I make up excuses, or there's something I need more, or I'll wind up going outside my "categories"...

I think a better method for me is to have a "recommended" budget (like, I shouldn't spend more than this on groceries for the month) and then look back at how I did spend my money and decide where my budget needs to be stretched and where I need to check my normal spending instincts. It'll be better for me to say, "Whoa, I spent $100 on video games last month. I can't do that again!" than to say, "Well, my budget is $60 on video games, and this game is $30, but I already spent $40, but that's not THAT much over..." You know?

Thanks for the luck. ♥

I just got your card! Thanks! (And by just got it I mean I just checked my mail.)

Good plans! Good luck!
