Letting your emotions out is for losers

See, this is the kind of my person I am: I spend thirty seconds sobbing, hating my life, hating my luck, hating everything, and then I tell myself that I am going to stop and I do. All better.

Well, I still hate everything, but I'm not crying anymore.

On a related note, I recently purchased a new desktop computer and a new soundcard to use on it. When it arrived, I attempted to install the soundcard and it did not work. So I attempted to install my wireless card, and it did not work. After speaking with tech support, we concluded that it was a motherboard issue, and they sent me a new desktop.

The new desktop arrived. The soundcard and the wireless card just will not work. Either I don't know how to install hardware, or I have the worst fucking luck. And either way, I have to just return everything and ask them to give me my money back.

I'm so bitter and angry and hateful right now. Why can't I have nice things?

I am a wreck when my computers are in various states of hardware malfunction, so I know that is really stressful. *HUGS* It is stressful whenever anything you are working to arrange isn't going as planned. *HUGS again*

i think you need another brand

*understands completely*

Is there anyone you know who can install the hardware for you? It's possible there's something you keep missing during the installations or something is just not connecting correctly. I don't know about soundcards, but wireless ones are just a pain in the butt to set up in general. I should know. :/ It could also be you need to exchange the soundcard, as you said it was also new. Have you used your wireless card before or is it new too?

If you're trying to set them up on a Windows Vista, it might be a good idea to switch to something else or re-install your last one. Vista is a piece of shit and hates pretty much everything. Slow as hell too, unless you dig into the depths and clean it out (but even then...). Totally not anti-Vista, no no no.

If all else fails, it's time to switch brands.

It's such a hassle. *sob* I love technology so much, but I just never get it right. Thank you for the hugs, though. ♥

Yeah. :\ Hopefully they'll be okay with giving me my money back for this thing.

It's Windows XP (guh I would so install over a Windows Vista system) and yeah, the wireless card is older -- I used it on my old desktop for several months, so at least that should still be working, even if the sound card is defective. *sob*

I don't know anyone out here who could do it for me -- it seems like such a simple procedure. ;_; Y, you open it up, you get it into a PCI slot, you screw it in place, you turn it on, and Windows goes, "Hay you have some new hardware! Got any software for that?" But Windows never recognizes my new hardware. ;_;

If I'm not doing it right, then I don't think I can trust myself to do it right. So whether it's broken a second time or I fail, I'll probably just wind up sending it all back and making a custom one that they'll put together for me.

AND HOPEFULLY IT WILL ACTUALLY WORK, INSTEAD OF NEEDING TO BE SENT BACK. AGAIN.
