Even more headpeople.

New headpeople. Because Pie-chan has me looking at Japanese fanart and I say to myself, "I'm not into the Sirius/James thing. Or the Sirius-looking-like-a-girl thing. Or the Sirius-wearing-dresses thing. Or the Sirius-sex-toy thing..." Because in about half of the pictures Sirius looks borderline annoyingly femme, and the other half he looks so awesome oh my god drool.

I think to myself, come on, even if Sirius WERE a girl, he wouldn't be dating James. (It'd be incest. He'd totally be dating Remus, just like he is in real life, except not even remotely feminine.)

Then I had a new pair of headpeople. A young man and a young woman, currently taken up residence in Jared's story where they have a place in the plot and everything, and also rounded out the main cast nicely. They have been best friends since forever, are completely inseparable, somewhat mischievous, and are completely not romantically interested in each other.

He's not human. He seems to be a demon, which would make him the first sympathetic demon in the Conspiracy of Impossibles universe. She's probably human, and also probably unaware of what he really is. I'm not sure what gifts she has, if any. Matarael is marginally amused by them; this is a good sign.

I hope y'all appreciate that I'm giving away my secrets here. The things I write seem quite original... until I explain them. Jared is from a Ben Folds song and, possibly, Digimon; Matarael is Jason's idea; the villains are inspired by Juvenile Orion art.

I'm terrible. *heart*

Poor... Poor Conan.

Oh GOD I just caught twenty seconds of Detective Conan on Comedy Central (or "Case Closed"). The voices are... No. Full of evil. Sometimes they forget to sound like adults when they ought to sound like adults, or they sound too much like adults when they ought to sound like children. But worst of all is Conan himself, who is -- as in the original -- voiced by a girl. Only this is America, not Japan, and Americans, we can't pull that off. He sounds like the potion changed him into an eight-year-old GIRL. She's not even pretending. *weep*

I hope it's just coincidence that I tuned in to an episode where there was a harmless kidnapping instead of the more typical horrible murders.

On a related note, the translation isn't bad, although all the name and cultural changes are mildly absurd... But Conan's voice is terrible, and I swear to God there's only two voice actresses in all America who play women, because there were only two women in the episode and I hear them both all the time. (Example: one is Kagome, the other is Sango, in Inuyasha.)

But Ran is still Ran even when she's Rachel, and I love her.
