It occurs to me that I originally conceived of Gideon and Fiona as a way of saying "Even if Sirius was a girl he still wouldn't be fucking James so HA!"  (That chain of thought was courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] sakusha_sama and pretty Japanese fanart.) Thus rendering Fiona as Sirius and Gideon as James, which is mostly true in accordance with their respective personalities, and they would be happily platonic sibling-like and not having sex at all.

But I originally conceived of Gideon and Fiona many weeks ago, and had since forgotten their origins.

More recently they found a story, Foxes Wild, and I started developing that story and adding characters. I knew that Fiona would be romantically shot down by the vampire Maxim, and I said to myself, that's so sucky she needs a real love interest, even if after the fact of the story. I decided to give her Lucien, because I couldn't tell a story full of vampires and demons without having a werewolf in there somewhere and he needed context.

I don't need to tell you who among the Marauders Lucien resembles most.

Subconsciously, I paired the Sirius-inspired girl with the Remus-like werewolf.

The mind works in predictable ways?
