Minding my own business, playing WoW. The painter working behind me says, hey, I'm going to turn on the fan, the smell is getting pretty strong in here. I say, okay.

He reaches for the switch on the wall.
The switch.
Of doom.
That should never, ever be flipped.

He flips it.

All the power in that half of my room goes dead. (It really stands to reason that if the switch is already "on", turning it "off" won't make the fan start.) My computer fritzes and turns off along with everything else. The painter immediately flips the switch back on.

All my devices restart.

Except my computer.

...it won't turn on.

Tinkering genes FTW

Thank god for the tinkering genes. I managed to get Ceiynt to turn on. He's running fine and showing no signs that he even noticed his near-death experience.

Just like his paladin namesake! Aww.

That was one of the scariest moments of the summer.
