First day at work today. ♥

In other news, today a blog I read posted about how much money you'd save and how generally better humanity would be if we all just canceled our cable subscriptions. A lot of the people in the comments pointed out that their cable comes bundled with their broadband, and canceling their cable would jack up the price of their broadband ridiculously (one person said they paid $57 a month for their cable/internet package, but with internet alone they'd pay... um, $58 a month) but a lot of people chimed in to say things like,

"I gave up TV fifteen years ago and I'm a superior human being to you boob-tube-watching jackasses! You'd be surprised at how much richer and more fulfilling your life is if you cancel your cable! You could pay for a new car in just three years of those savings!! Why don't you try reading a book out loud with your wife, losers?"

Now, okay. I know this is true to an extent. I remember my sister coming home from school, dropping her bag on the floor, turning on the TV, and remaining stationary for like five hours just out of lameness. And I'm sure I'd save a lot of money if I didn't enjoy the serial aspect of my favorite television shows, ending an episode of LOST and going arghomgwtf I can't wait for next week eee. Some things you just don't want to wait ten months for and then sit down and watch in a single sitting long after everyone else you know has moved on to other things. Frankly, I think watching LOST in a single sitting takes a lot of the fun out of it anyway.

But what really kills me is that half of these people end their testimonies by announcing, "And you can spend more time on the internet!!"

lol fail.
