Remembering! ...already, my cousin Scott

Well, it's finally happened. My idiot cousin, Scott, went and did it. We all tried to rein him in, to tell him, you know, Scott, maybe hanging out with drunks and druggies and then partying all night and driving around like a lunatic with them until dawn isn't the way to go. He used to listen, when we told him those things. Or anything. He didn't really have any opinions until I moved away to college; he was four years younger than me, and did anything I said, hoping to impress me. He went to SUNY Albany because I went there.

We all tried to tell him. I knew, when he didn't listen, that he'd get in trouble.

I just thought he'd have a chance to learn from it.

The funeral is Sunday.

Sorry for the depressing post.

He was scared of butterflies, when we were kids, and there are pictures of him dressing up in our grandmother's clothes with me and my sisters.

Shi'va! The unexciting ritual

I want to thank you, all of you, who commented on my earlier post. I can't comment back, my brain is on ice or something, but it's really tremendous, knowing that all of you guys are there with hugs and well-wishes.

Now, to ruin the impression that I mourn at all: Holy crap shiva what, are you serious? I've never had a family member more significant than a cat die before, so what? For shiva I have to sit, in a room, with my family, for a day, with absolutely nothing that might make any of us feel good. No TV, no games, no decks of cards, no books, no happy thoughts. Nothing. And in more out-of-touch with reality more traditional families, this can go on for up to a week! Don't you all wish you were Jewish?!

So, yeah.

Excitement is spending your 4th of July crossing the country on a plane instead of watching fireworks I don't wanna go I wanna stay here nooooo I don't wanna go don't make me go ahem.

But apparently madfnorder and maladaptive and wy1d will all be in NYC while I'm there. Potential bonus?
