Game : Birth By Sleep : Aqua
Jan. 30th, 2010 11:52 pmKham came over with his Japanese copy of Birth By Sleep and we started an Aqua scenario. She's so cool. I love watching her fight and thinking "This is why you need more women, Kingdom Hearts! LOOK AT HER BEING KICKASS."
Story interests me, I like our main trio, Ven is a little bit of a stalker/crushing on Terra/etc. Aqua is the coolest. This post contains NO SPOILERS btw, just vague abstract information.
Played through Cinderella, Snow White, and now Sleeping Beauty worlds. I -- I am honestly so happy about this. I hadn't really thought about it, but goddamn, you don't realize that playing through Aladdin like eight times in four games is boring. New worlds are so exciting! New enemies! New experiences! Yes, we're mostly just rehashing movie plot, but there is some improvement on that because at least we get to see it in three pieces, each one involving some element of searching for, finding, learning about the other two without actually experiencing them sequentially -- if that makes sense.
As expected, Sleeping Beauty is the coolest world, Maleficent's minions are the coolest enemies, and Phillip is the coolest Disney prince. He joins Aqua's party, helps her fight, gives her gentlemanly boosts, is generally hardcore, while those other lame-ass princes were like "See you later! Good luck finding my girlfriend! I have important hair-style decisions to make!"
Meanwhile, Aqua is killing Maleficent's minions. Not Heartless (who aren't people)! Not Nobodies (who "aren't people")! But minions, who are hypothetically people, albeit evil minion people! Even our Nobody game didn't have the balls to have Roxas kill anybody who wasn't Heartless, despite the fact that Yen Sid told us the Organization fucking destroys worlds.
So cool.
