Another Side, Another Story FYI

For those of you who might be interested but aren't aware yet, libekory and I have been working on a Kingdom Hearts 2 plotline called Another Side, Another Story.

Everyone knows this story: The keyblade master slept for three hundred days. Those with the fate of the world in mind struggled to wake him, but he was not whole; first they needed to find his dark shadow and bring it back to him before he could return and give light to all the worlds. With the two halves of his soul reunited, the keyblade master becomes the hero once more, and brings peace wherever his path takes him.

This is someone else's story.

What if Sora never woke up?

What if Roxas takes up the mantle of keyblade master?

Just a few of the answers to that question: a handful of Nobodies are going to save the multiverse, the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee is going to cram a few more people into their tiny headquarters, Aslan and Roger Rabbit and Goliath will need some help saving their worlds, some old not-friends will await in Hades, and DiZ will Not Be Happy.

But AS isn't crack. It's a very serious epic story. Right now, as we speak, each new chapter is 2500 words of not crack, and so far there are 13 chapters with more on the way.

I'm a little frightened of attempting epic stories myself. I mean... the length! The plot! The epic-ness! I wish you the best of luck with it.

That's really cute~ and pretty, too. :3 It's one of the pairings I guiltily admit to wanting to see more of.

We're doing pretty well. We already know what's going on for most steps of the way, we have giant timelines and backstories and stuff. And when you have a story this cool, you just keep getting excited about it again and again. I'm incapable of watching Narnia movies now without thinking of how cool our Narnia plot is going to be. XD

...I'm not saying I don't like realism in my games, but this really isn't about righting some great wrong and making everything happiness and bubbles. This is a giant story that just happens to explore a situation that we would've liked to see. I mean, we ate Sora. We ate Sora. He's gone. He was the nicest guy in the game. Of course he didn't deserve it, and of course there are consequences and people who are upset about it. It's not like we're telling the story of how Roxas got a heart and a dog and a happy ending.

This story is more about what-if. It explores the nature of Nobodies, the history of Radiant Garden, a completely alternate setting and sequence of events, and worlds that KH2 never bothered going to because it was so obsessed with rehashing the plot of Pirates of the Caribbean word-for-word.

If you don't want to read it, that's fine, but -- your comment just seemed to be oversimplifying a truly epic fic effort dramatically. XD

You can just join and start playing! You can either make your own post, or you can wait for a new post (one needs to be made soon, Cloud hasn't made his arrival yet) and hop in to start playing from there.
