Finances?! Kay's secret weakness!
S, someone on my flist posted a few days ago about how despite being deep in debt, their SO bought a PS3 without telling her...? Who refuses to think about his debt, claiming to be "handling" it? I don't think I got around to commenting despite my deep sympathy and I can't remember who it was, but--
This link is talking about the same thing. Actually, a good way to get him to think about his situation might be making him follow this blog, dflkjgdfgl it makes me so paranoid about my money. Anyway, hopefully the comments have something helpful.
Good luck? Um. XD Just gonna toss this out into LJ and hope you see it.

We do both spend, um, whimsically, but I'm definitely more frugal (I splurge on nice $16 shampoo, he splurges on a $350 video card). I really think some of those tips, like making LONG-TERM GOALS more visible, and tracking our spending on entertainment, etc., will help some.
Thanks!

I think a budget would definitely help -- I know rent and utilities usually come to under X, so I'll make X my budget for those, and then groceries and paying back loans, but the important budgeting is for things like, "Lazy Eating" (fast food, restaurants) and "Luxuries". If I don't spend money in one category, it carries over. So he can still have his $350 video card -- he just has to spend a few months not buying other luxuries first, you know? It might help if you make sure he knows that.
Good luck. :\ I'm so Jewish I worry about my roommate's finances and bitch up a storm when she buys a water bottle at the movies as opposed to just asking for a cup of water, so I am sincerely hoping your finances improve!! XD
