SO. I read spoilers and was not entirely fooled by them. I was willing to adapt, but I'm very glad to see that they aren't true. They seemed a little off to me -- the tip-off was Allen crying, apparently because he's so lonely? guys loneliness is the least of his problems right now -- and I'm glad I didn't misinterpret his character.
Miranda~ Miranda I love you~ And you gave Allen candy and see he's happy~ So painfully cute.
KOMUI HAS A HOT NEW ASSISTANT TO STAND OVER HIS SHOULDER AND MAKE HIM DO WORK. DIBS ON SHIPPING?!? I'm going to the kink meme right now.
Where's Lavi. And Lenalee, for that matter, but her perspective probably shouldn't change that much, and Lavi has a lot to think about.
On a more thoughtful note:
My guess is that Allen is melancholy instead of responsive to Kanda's goading because he thinks that Kanda is right to be a dick to him right now. He gets up in arms when Kanda is mean to Miranda, but he won't defend himself. He understands why Kanda is treating him like that, thinks Kanda is right to treat him that way, because he might hurt his friends. Allen probably appreciates that Kanda is willing to deal with that, in his way.
(Meanwhile, of course this is understandable from Kanda's POV, because as the character profiles indicated, Kanda pushes people aside in large part because he doesn't want to be attached to them when they inevitably die or in the event that he has to kill them, both of which are extremely likely in the best of circumstances, and now certainties in Allen's case.)
My operating theory is that Allen wants his friends to avoid him, or to stop being close to him. It hurts, but it's better than killing them when he becomes the 14th. So we'll see where that goes.
