Bleach 349
I might be calling it too soon, but:
Now: The last pages of The Lust 3 (lol spoiler alert)
Then: Ichigo fighting the Vizards
I'm just saying that Ichigo's random two feet of hair might not be totally random. It's happened once before, and it has rather conspicuous timing. It's when he was fighting his Hollow inside, and the Vizards were fighting his Hollow outside.
So, to theorize, Ichigo having apparently died here, could now be awakening as a true Hollow. This could obviously pose a huge big problem for Orihime and Ishida, because Hollow instincts will drive him to try to kill her or both of them. But, more importantly, Hollow!Ichigo could stand up to Ulquiorra; could, in fact, become an Arrancar, since we know that Hollow don't need Aizen's power or the power of the Hougyoku to become Arrancar. The current Espada are mostly Hougyoku-and-Aizen-created, but the old Espada (the Privaron) (and Aaroniero) are Hollow who managed, naturally, to ditch their masks and become part shinigami.
We may wind up seeing another Ichigo v Hollow!Ichigo duel, this time finished, since we never did reach a real conclusion: Ichigo never really did defeat his Hollow, only managed to get it to retreat for a short while and bide its time. Is that how it works, with Vizard? Maybe, who can say. But it isn't resolved yet.
I'd also like to see everyone have to fight Hollow!Ichigo. Ideally he would kick Ulquiorra's ass and then the good guys have to fight him (the way the Vizard did) while he struggles to regain self-control. But this is just whimsy.
At any rate: those two Ichigos look alike. We may be in for some rough times! That'd be fun. :D

Very interesting. Here's hoping for that, absolutely.

Of course, I'd thought, "Well, Ishida can't die, because Ichigo got to come right back!" .. But he didn't, he went hollowthing. *snaps*

My problem is the people who denigrate her feelings and her character over it, calling her childish insults and screeching in all caps about how pathetic she is, often dedicating entire LJ entries to such nonsense.
The kicker is many of these people adore Rukia, who as I recall didn't fight and beat anybody until the Hueco Mundo arc. Prior to that she sat around and watched Ichigo fight, and then sat around and angsted a lot, yet somehow it was more awesome when she did it.

The pointless Orihime hate is something I don't like, especially since my best friend doesn't like her and I'm always trying to defend her :I.

And poor Orihime, she has to deal with Ichigo maybe being dead, as well as the backlash for her reaction to it =(

Or they could deus ex machina it and fix him after the fact.

I'm praying we get more Hollow Ichigo, though - because that fight really was unfinished. And H!Ichigo said at the end of it that he'd be there if Ichigo fell, and would take the reins for himself.
I hadn't thought about him becoming an Arrancar, but there is no way in hell anyone is taking Ulqui out otherwise. I love Ishida and his badassery, but he doesn't stand a chance. He knows he doesn't, and keeps going, which I love him for - but H!Ichigo's probably the only shot they've got.
Then they'd all have to fight him too. Which would honestly make for some great plot - and great Ishida snark, too. He'd handle it with his usual attitude. I've wanted Ishida to meet H!Ichigo for a long time. MAYBE I WILL GET MY WISH?
You brought up some interesting points, and made me more interested in next week's chapter than I was. I was kind of "meh" before.
So thanks!

But yes, the fight was completely and utterly undecided. It just ended with the Hollow saying, you win for now, but I'm waiting, buddy. You'll weaken sometime, and then I'll be there, bwahaha. That is what we call a loose end. XD Perfect for future plot twists such as this one.
Ishida/Hollow Ichigo snark would be epic. Do want.

I miss when BLEACH wasn't meh for me. :\

Ichigo didn't finish his Visored training. He left for HM before he could finish subduing his Hollow with the Visored. Now like in all good shounen he's going to get some field experience. I expect an inner battle. And some rough times ahead for poor Orihime.
Fucking amazing chapter, so beautifully drawn.

But I agree that we're going there, we might and should have another inner battle, and slkfjdfg Orihime probably having more angst. And eventually getting over it and using her powers to save the world somehow, because we all know she's building up to it. (AND PUTTING ISHIDA'S HAND BACK ON WHILE SHE'S AT IT PLEASE skfjsfs he needs that to sew! :( )

The whole thing with the hair immediately reminded me of Grimmjow's nasty pantera hair, which leads me to the question WHERE THE HELL IS GRIMMJOW? Poor guy. He's like the Espada!Chad, knocked down and never to be seen again for a hundred chapters.
buuut I'm waiting to see how things will pan out :) what I'm really continuing to read for is Orihime's development, even if it really feels like whatever happens with her / whatever she does will just be used to further Ichigo's power-up or whatever. Which would be okay if I didn't feel like she got shafted (in terms of.. situation and development) the entire time in HM.

I'm also hoping hoping hoping that Orihime's going to have some glorious shining tsubaki-firing moment, though; healing is good, but I think if she gets a turnaround in her character, fighting back is going to need to be incorporated somehow.

*glees for something interesting happening at last*
