Magic tricks! Now you see logic, now you don't
This came up a few days ago, and I figured I'd share it before I go ahead and resume translating, because it's hilarious and relevant.
A troll came from a troll forum to get her crazy all over my journal, explaining why Gino/Kallen was a terrible pairing, I was a terrible person, and I was also terrible at Japanese, and he/she/it was an incredibly unbiased source, being the pure essence of words, apparently. Troll told me repeatedly that troll had "corrected" my translation.
I made my translation in a comment on the![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
code_geass post with the picture drama that had been uploaded. I didn't receive notification of a comment "correcting" me, so I shrugged and didn't bother looking. I know my translation was largely within a reasonable margin of error, and a troll's friend saying that I don't actually know Japanese doesn't concern me.

yinake went to look a day or two ago, and reports that the troll made her "correction" to a comment left by one of the Kallen/Lelouch trolls and that her "correction" was about one line Kallen says to Gino, followed by two paragraphs about why Gino/Kallen fans are delusional and making up things so people will like the pairing more.
One line -- which I actually forgot to translate. I was going to go back to it and left it out entirely.
A random person pointed it out to me, so I agreed from memory that her translation -- which was minutely on the shippy side -- was largely correct. So this alleged propaganda I was trying to promote wasn't even in the translation.
This is why I'm a bad translator! I'm a shipper pushing my agenda on the fandom through my fake translations!! Via a line of banter that I completely left out of the actual translation!! And have two paragaphs of why the ship sucks!! But she is inherently reasonable and isn't threatened by my ship at all, she considers it lulzworthy!!
Oh troll. You are hilarious. It was an especially excellent move, commenting to your fellow troll instead of to me, and refusing to link me to it when I asked, so that I would have no clue that you were being retarded somewhere I should laugh at you.

The really hilarious part is that I still don't think I'm "in" the Code geass fandom. XD I don't read forums or get involved in discussions. I just play with my toys in my corner, and get accosted by people who think my toys suck!!
