DGM 192
Nghhh Hoshino stop making me ship Rhode/Allen so much. All the physical contact and pretty panels of significant glances and her helping him and. *fans self*
That is all super messed up and I love this series. ♥
I was talking to Li about DGM and Bleach. I concluded that if Bleach is winding to its conclusion, if we're really in the last story arc, that's okay, because we've sort of reached the peak of character development. Orihime still has a little ways to go, but aside from her, the characters' stories have more or less finished; it's mostly the plot that really needs resolution. Turn Back the Pendulum did a lot for covering character issues.
There's room for Bleach to continue. But it could end with only a minimum of character content left to go.
On the other hand, D. Gray-man feels like it's rushing towards a climax but there's still a lot of content missing -- not only plot content, but character content. Where is Lavi's personal evolution going? What's with the Bookman's eye? What's the deal about the 14th? Mana? What happened to Cross? What happened in Allen's past, and what will become of him? Who's the Heart? Are we going to see more crystal-types or not? And that's setting aside all the major plot questions, like-- Are the Exorcists really the good guys, or is the Earl's early implication that the Noah are the good guys correct? What is the 14th/Allen going to do to everyone? Why does he want to become the next Earl; we were led to believe he was a good guy in disguise? What is the meaning of everything that's going on, who really wants to do what, and why?
So I'm personally anticipating that the "climax" isn't -- that something big or drastic will happen, interrupting the headlong charge of events, and things will simmer down until everyone is on standby waiting to kill each other in the future while we explore some more of our setting.
/eh, two cents
