Recent Bleach chapters
Yeah, I'm back into Bleach again. Partly my playing Orihime again, partly the awesome of recent chapters.
Getsuga Tenshou sdflkdsjlgkj hahahaha, we copped out on the Rangiku confrontation this time but I had glee at the end.
So I guess Getsuga Tenshou is genetic, huh. Does this mean Zangetsu-- I don't even know what this means. But it was kind of awesome.
Gin's confrontation with Ichigo is really fun too. I love the occasional reminder that Ichigo is more than just apretty face hot-headed shounen hero. He is, actually, a very rational and observant guy. Gin has obviously made a career out of misleading people about Shinsou's ability, but Ichigo very easily sees through it, and he's made a career out of these kinds of observations.
Ichigo's attempt to psych Gin out ("After us, what happens to you?") was clever, but I love that it failed completely ("Ohh, so you're expecting to die? Well, I can't let Captain Aizen deal with a coward like you~"). Stiiiiill shipping Aizen/Gin.
But nothing will ever be more horrible, or horribly awesome, than Aizen making Hitsugaya stab Hinamori. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Hitsugaya learned Hyourinmaru's name because he wanted to protect Hinamori, and he ran her through with his bankai, no holding back. He's got a lot of horror to go through, whether or not she survives. Not to mention that Hinamori has now been stabbed by both the captain she idolized and the best friend she trusted above all else. Good times for everyone! Aizen's douchebaggery is incredibly epic.
So! On that note, me being into Bleach again, I'm rereading. It's funny the things you notice on a reread -- the deliberate references -- the extensive set-up -- the things that make more sense. I heard someone criticizing the Aizen plot twist because Aizen god-moding everything is a stretch, but you can see the manipulation going on when you look for it. It's not god-mode, because it was completely set up, you can see and tell. It's not until later that he activates god-mode.
So I'm reading very carefully with an eye for plot and interactions, and I'm also shipping Ichigo/Orihime more than everrrr. When she convinces him to go after Rukia when he's almost convinced himself not to-- When people in Rukongai (in Soul Society, later) mistake them for a couple-- When they reach for each other after being separated by the cannonball's explosion-- And Renji/Rukia, watching them mend and heal their long-broken relationship, and Hitsugaya/Hinamori, and Aizen/Gin and Gin/Rangiku and-- oh my oh my.
Yeah, I'm back into Bleach.
