Anxiety and excitement! A muddling time

Engaged in an epic quest of finding healthier things to drink than diet soda and fruit juice. I'm trying to teach myself to like the taste of tea by buying sweetened and flavored tea products, and things with vanilla. So far seltzer water and flavored water are failing, but the sweetened tea and the vanilla latte are mild successes (e.g. I could force myself to drink them). I'm going to try seltzer water mixed with juice.

Failing at the second half of [livejournal.com profile] springkink. I took those prompts to get me started writing, but there ended up being so many that now every time I think I should write, I end up thinking "AHHHH I'M SO LATE THE PRESSUREEEE /does something else"

In exciting news, Marina is doing a canon fourth-wall event, which is going to be epicccc and right now GIR is the warden, which is being pretty epic sdfljkslkgj. I'm also apping Fran from Final Fantasy XII, which will give me a whopping full plate of Lelouch, Gino, Roxas, Allen, Orihime, and Fran. In short, I'm going to kill myself.

If anyone knows any Lenalee/Link/Crowley players, point them my wayyyy? I would kill for them to get in this app period. And Kallens... I'm nervous about the cast filling up again without one.

Will post later with Bleach thoughts. Cheesecake Factory!

What I do for tea is that I make 2-liter pitchers of standard orange pekoe--the stuff Lipton usually peddles--brew it until it's black, and then add sugar. It's got a wonderful bittersweet flavor, and enough substance to it. Honestly, I can't stand bottled, factory-brewed teas.

Obviously, you don't want to make a whole pitcher just to find out you don't like it, but I do recommend trying it in a smaller dose! Boil that tea up to a nice rolling boil, add one or two teabags (I add 6 standard-sized bags when I'm making a pitcher), and then add sugar until it tastes how you like it. Then let it cool.

Ummm, of course, I don't know what it is you don't like about tea, so that might be entirely counterproductive, but most brands I've found are just tea-flavored water, so.

Oh, and also, app_this_plz will be happening again on Sunday or Monday, but that doesn't exactly help us on this app period... orz

No problem! That is why I dislike most herbal teas, actually, since they just taste so weak to me. Unless I'm sick, that's the last thing I want. So yeah, I drink almost exclusively black teas because they're stronger and actually have SUBSTANCE when brewed at proper heat and length of time.

...vanilla chai is the exception because it is delicious with a little milk.

Anyway, good luck with your beverage endeavors! I actually had this very same struggle you did a few years ago, and now I can't stand soda. WHOOPS
