Happy holidays, everyone!

As I posted on my LJ, I'm now officially done there, forever. No more money, no more writing, no more trawling my friends list, no more anything that isn't linking to DW or throwing in my two cents if I am linked somewhere.

I will accordingly be attempting to use this journal more, and write more in general, to make it all worth your while to come hang out here with me.


In the spirit of moving around: Are there any communities on DW you think I should be aware of? Most of you probably know my interests (writing, analyzing, roleplaying; Tales of..., Bleach, D. Gray-man) and I want to know if there are places on DW where I can be contributing to discussion or content! Is there a Tales of kink meme? Should we start one? Where would I go if I wanted to link a fanfic or the translation of the Judith novel that I'm almost done with the first chapter of? Where do you live and what do you do on DW?

There is an old Tales of Kink Meme that was put up in DW's first year and isn't really active anymore; there's also sidequest, which is intended to be a home for video-game-based memes in general and needs more people to come play in it.

I would really love for there to be a general video game fanworks comm in the way that there's anime_manga, but I don't know of one yet and don't think I have the time to run one.

(I do run newgameplus, which hosts exchanges of different kinds a few times a year; I'll be getting my act together for the first 2012 thing soon.)

I'm only peripherally involved with RP, so other people could definitely give you more pointers there, but two active games that might be worth looking at are thusia (brand new, jam jar, fast-paced) and aather (amnesia game -- it takes a while to get in b/c there's a player cap due to everyone being on teams, but my roommate just got in and is having a blast; they have active Abyss and Vesperia casts).

I did some writing for NGP last year! ...I never posted it, though. XD It was an unfulfilled prompt from round 2. I should at least throw it up on my writing journal. I will do better this time. /joins and subscribes

I will check out sidequest~ That's a lovely idea and I hope it picks up a bit more. I'll see what I can do.

I played in Aather for a while when it first opened, actually, but I felt pretty awkward -- at least at the time, it was mostly composed of people who knew each other from other games, I wasn't familiar with IRC and didn't feel good about lurking there all the time, and no one even posted intros, so I felt like the odd man out. /sob... It was fun while I played there, though!

I was looking at Thusia, too, but I didn't read much of the info because the layout was hating me on Chrome. I see some of the same people in it, but I won't let that stop me! Are they allowing one AU / one OU character, or one of each of their "categories" on the taken page, or what? /curious

Ah! Here, this might be more helpful in general: list of RPs on dreamwidth, which is getting linked around lately and people are commenting with new additions to the list. I haven't really played in an organized game since my few ill-fated months at CFUD a few years ago, but probably somebody there could help you find some good stuff!
