Unimpressive updates and a roleplay request

I finished the second chapter of the Judith novel, but there are a few lines I'm definitely in need of a second pair of eyes on, so I'm waiting for Libby to get to looking at it before I post. I'll put it up before the end of the weekend, though -- I promised myself one per week.

I've been doing the world's tiniest writing, which I'll post on insincere after today's entry. After I get through my tags I'm going to try doing some non-tiny writing, too. Productive!

Finished Skyward Sword. Almost back to where I was in FFXIII. Hooray for Li being too sick to do anything other than play video games!

Does anyone roleplay Axel? Or know someone who would be willing to roleplay Axel with me? I'm in kind of a uniquely bad RP situation and I wanted to try museboxing/IM RPing it out.

Indeed. I was on Pulse, which is fucking huge and really distracting, and nothing had happened in a long time, and I just... put... the controller down and stopped playing. But I recently restarted and damn if I'm not going to finish this stupid game in time for FFXIII-2.

Heh. I don't blame you for not liking the pacing. That was one of my beefs (along with the inventory system and the second to last boss having an instant death attack. Blech). I ended up still really enjoying the game, but yeah.

Pro-tip: Do as many Cieth Stone missions as possible. They really help out later.

Ah, RP-ing. I so dearly miss it. Unfortunately, I do not have an Axel voice -- or any KH voices now that I think about it.

I'm curious, what do you think about FFXIII so far? My brother has it and while I think the graphics look absolutely amazing, I can't seem to get myself interested enough in the story line to actually want to play it.

It's really... Okay. I like the characters and I do like the story, and I like the battle system. But the storytelling and the extremely linear paths between cutscenes are very disheartening. I feel like they made a tactical mistake by telling the story in the disjointed, disorderly way they did, plunging characters into epic situations long before we knew who they were, what their motivations are, or why we should care. It's not a problem with the story itself, which is solid, or the characters, who are interesting. It's just the presentation of the story which makes it all really weak.

But because of the way they tell the story, I feel very disconnected from it. I bought it when it first came out, played 2/3rds of the way through it, stopped, and then didn't pick it up again until recently. I restarted and I'm almost back to chapter 11 and I still feel the same way. So I guess that's most of my review of it so far.

Still, I'm determined to finish it so that I can give FFXIII-2 a try. /the smartest consumer

I miss tiny frochobo but I just can't make myself care enough to play the game. And now there's a sequel. Frrrbbbtt. Snow looks so creepy in it, too.

I'm sick of my piles of unfinished games, and with FFXIII-2 coming out, which I feel compelled to try the way I feel compelled to try all FF games, I said, "Okay, it's time to buckle down and finish that slow, poorly-crafted game."

I haven't looked around much at FFXIII-2 to avoid spoilers, though, so all I know is that Serah is the lead, Lightning is missing, and time travel is involved, which -- obviously makes for a great story. I mean, how can you go wrong with time travel. /sarcasm

BUT YEAH I thus have no idea what Snow looks like. Is he hilarious?
