We had to go out and it took for-fucking-ever. I've already played what I choose to pretend was an hour of TOG because otherwise we won't get to play Downpour.

Okay, blond dude is obviously both a childhood friend and our villain. Asbel, Hubert, and Purple-Haired Loli are all chatting in a field, then Cute Pink-Haired Girl and Blond Dude come up.

The tree has "Asbel, Richard, and Sophier" scrawled on it. I don't know why it says Sophier instead of Sophie, I just tell it like I see it. I identify Richard as the blond dude, unless Hubert got a truly unfortunate name change from the Japanese.

Purple-Haired Loli has a lot more boob in the opening shot than in the actual game, in which she is incredibly, distressingly loli.

I liked it when cute pink-haired girl was concerned about Asbel.

But Asbel being moe-shunned by the blond dude... This is a little gayer than I like my opening songs. I want to ship Asbel with the cute pink-haired girl, please don't ruin this for me, game.

Seriously, this scene of Asbel and Richard by the tree IS KIND OF HEAVY. Asbel holding out his hand to Richard, and Richard walking right past him while Asbel turns and gives him the woobiest look of hurt, and this music plays:
