Tales of Graces f: DAY TWO

Now that all that bland horror stuff is out of the way, are you ready for friendship?! That's right, I didn't think so. Well, brace yourself. Bonds of friendship are eternal, as the game box informs me!!

Starting from: YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD, I mean, tiny Asbel just met with his father to learn about the new kid coming to visit.

Observation: I ramble and talk to myself a little more for SH than for Tales, probably because there's less substantial relevant game content to relate.

SKIT: Presea observes that Asbel looks different. Asbel says it's because he was nine back then. And now he's ELEVEN. :DDDD And Presea is like. Maybe... I'm... fourteen? :|a Asbel is all the skeptical about her being closer to a grown-up than he is.

Randomly, the game yanks us away from our stuff and shows us a mommy and daddy scene!

Uh-oh, looks like Aston has made the executive decision to send "him" away~ Even though "he" is "so young"... "He's a strong child"...

Kerri is upset about it.

Oh, looks like we were outside that room.

AND WE OPENED UP A SIDE-QUEST. Oh god, this game.

We have tiny commentary on how filthy Asbel's desk is. He's adorable when he's tiny.

We head outside and Asbel has another tantrum. AND WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE DAD EVER YELLS AT ANYWAY.

He doesn't want to be Lord of Lhant, he wants to be a knight. :|

More importantly, Hubert points out, remember Presea? The girl who walks off cliffs? Can you really look after her?

...Cheria is lurking outside and sneaks in. She says she's feeling better.

Asbel announces he's going to take care of Presea now and Cheria is VERY UPSET.

Asbel decides to name Presea... TIGER FESTIVAL

No Asbel. No.

Hubert suggests naming her after a flower, since we found her in a field of flowers. So, after the sopheria flower, we'll call her... Sophie!

And history is made.

Sophie gets the "Named After A Flower" title. ...that's a cute title.

The guest is overdue, though, so Aston and some troops head out to find him!

Asbel decides we should also head out to find him, because we are, collectively, like 32 years old, so that's clearly influential.

THE TRANSPORT WAS ATTACKED BY MONSTERS!

Dad: What are you doing here? This is dangerous!
Asbel: It's cool, we got this. 8D
Dad: BUT I HAVE ARMED GUARDS, AND YOU'RE ELEVEN.
Asbel: Cheria, take care of the transport with your sickliness!

It's up to us, obviously!!

Aston comes over to yell at his idiot son, but Sophie gets between them and tells him to stop. This relationship is going to be totally adorable as long as it's platonic, game.

Aston is humiliated, anyway, but the noble says he will forgive the incident in light of Asbel's bravery. Asbel sneers at Aston's "groveling act".

SERIOUSLY, ASBEL. DON'T EVER TALK TO RICHARD, OKAY? EVER. NO MORE DISOBEDIENCE.

Yeah yeah.

Aaaaand Asbel has decided to meet Richard. Done.

rainfall: /tries to enter Richard's room through the door

Guard: Uh, no, you need your Dad's permission.

rainfall: I need Dad's permission, nooooo

Will you go outside and peek through his window like a creeper already?

Richard is sitting mournfully at his table by himself, staring off into space, but Asbel and co climb in his window and freak him out.

Asbel is like "LET'S GET OUT O HERE AND HAVE FUN!"

Richard turns around and gets all aloof.

"You're only pretending to like me so you can use me later." Richard is jaaaaaaded.

Anyway Asbel actually gets a hit on him, which irritates Bryce and forces him to pull a weapon. Richard is impressed, but a servant stops Bryce from the murder.

Asbel apologizes to Bryce for his insolence and asks to spar with him again in the future.

Hubert: Asbel sounds polite...
Cheria: That hit must've scrambled his brains.
Asbel: /TSUNBLUSH SHUT UP

The escort is very praising of Asbel's talent, and so is Richard.

Is it time to play now, says Asbel!! BECAUSE WE CAN GO TO THE FIELD OF FLOWERS!!

Hubert and Cheria stay behind, because it's almost sundown, but Cheria commands Sophie to go with them and keep them out of trouble.

Richard is a tiny guest so he has no observable stats.

We arrive at the flower meadow and holy shit what is that in the sky, was that there last time.

Bryce tailed us like a creeper and is tsking at Prince Richard.

GASP! PRINCE RICHARD?! OH MY GOD, says Asbel.

Bryce is now going to MURDER RICHARD

DUN DUN DUN

Asbel and Sophie will save you! I know no one saw that coming.

We defeat Bryce, in the sense of "he falls over".

Bryce is kind of a ham.
