Whoops, we went to report to the president and Hubert is here! He's reported that Windor's armies have left Lhant and returned to Barona.

Asbel stumblingly explains what happened at Duplemar, but before he can spit it out, Hubert is like, "Did he absorb all the eleth from the valkines cryas? Yeah, he does that."

We're the only ones who don't know the plot!!

...actually it's because he did it to Gloandi in Barona, too. The capital is in chaos and Richard just up and disappeared.

Paradine: Okay. We need to deal with our cryas situation, and then we need to find King Richard and ask him what is his deal. This is a global issue. No more petty squabbles.

Hubert: Since he targeted two valkines, we must assume he's going after the third now. That means he's headed for Fendel.

...wait now I'm confused. Is Fendel not a province of Windor? If it isn't, then why would the King Frederick not intervene when they attacked Lhant, which is Windor's territory? Is he in the habit of okaying other nations to attack his borders? If we're building up Fendel as having something that the other two nations have, then it should surely be a third global power, right? I'm... what.

Yeah, the three kingdoms of Windor, Strahta, and Fendel are fighting for control of the planet.

Which kind of makes it as if Oklahoma got attacked by idk China, and Obama was like, "It's cool, Oklahoma. You can take care of yourself, right?"

It was different when it sounded like they were all part of the same kingdom and Daddy just didn't want to intervene in little civil clashes, he wanted to be neutral. But it is just plain goddamn stupid to "be neutral" when another sovereign nation attacks your borders and slaughters your people. That makes you a shitty ruler.
