and I am going to finish the adult era if it's the last thing I do



Starting from: Who the hell knows? Er... After going to Fodra, before heading to Lastalia. This is supposed to be Sidequest Tiem.

You and I are not even people who read feminist critique into everything! We are usually quite content with what the source material itself puts forward, and let that speak for itself, we don't read into things about consent and privilege and all that...

And yet, when time after time after time we're told that all any lady ever really wants out of life is the affection and protection of a man... There isn't anywhere else to go.

And I can't get over the fact that Tales of Vesperia was so damned good about this. I mean, Symphonia and Abyss were both clearly well-intentioned even in the places where they screwed it up, so I was just. Completely unprepared for this game setting us all back approximately fifty years.
