Ugh booooo I started up Tales of Xillia again and all my progress and all my preorder DLC is on the old Playstation 3. ;;;; So I'm starting over. With no costumes or anything! Unless I can redeem my DLC code more than once, but that's usually not how it works.

In other news, Tales of Vesperia PS3 Japanese to English patch is ooooout!! I'm so buying a new copy of the PS3 game... and all the shiny DLC, if it's still available... I'm still determined to finish FFX before I go crazy, though.

Oh awesome!! What does one need to be able to use the PS3 patch? Do you have to have a Japanese PS3, or just a J-copy of the game?

You don't need a Japanese PS3, any PS3 will play the game! And there's a cheap copy of it at Play-Asia

But I read up on it, and you do need either a really old PS3 that's on firmware version 3.55 or less (they're currently on, like, 4.7ish, I checked mine :( ) or a jailbroken PS3, and jailbreaking might damage your PS3 and might get you banned if you access PSN with it... so it's better to not do it with your main PS3, I guess.

If you're decent with Japanese text, though, they did put the entirety of their translation online, which was awesome of them. So you could read along with the story and try to match skits or items while playing it on your normal, non-jailbroken PS3 in full Japanese.

Wouldn't it be possible to pull the DLCs over by logging into the new PS3 using your original PSN account? I'm not too sure about pulling the saves over unless you've got it backed up on the PSN cloud or barring that just copying it onto USB and uploading it on to the new PS3? I think that's a thing.

I tried what you suggested, and I'm not sure if it's just because the Xillia pre-order DLC is no longer available or what, but it didn't appear in my list. I also couldn't see any of the TOV PS3 DLC we got... but that might be because it's Japanese and I was in the English store? idk

So I just started over without the things, alas. But I was able to download some DLC from other games (like DA2) so thanks for the suggestion! The PS3 is unfortunately with my old roommate, but I'm glad I didn't lose all the things.

If it's from the Japanese store you won't find it in the English store. I found that out that hard way when I was switching accounts from NZ to Asia PSN. :/

But as long as you can log into that PSN account and re-DL it, you can use in regardless of account you sign into, you just need to log into the correct PSN account that DLed it. Go check under your downloads and not the actual DLC page. Even if they were pre-orders, they should still be in your downloads page or something.

PSN is kind of iffy to navigate. I hope it works out! -crosses fingers-

slfkjslkgj aww, that is an extremely generous offer!! I couldn't do that to you though. I'm just in between houses at the moment and so everything I own is in boxes... I looked through some of the easiest-to-reach boxes to try and find the books but they didn't turn up. If you have a copy I'd be fine with scans or mailing back and forth, but I'll look extra hard tonight/tomorrow to try and find it!

Aaaaah, I don't want to make you go to any trouble! But your work is absolutely lovely, I felt just like I was getting to read the books myself (I did not study hard enough in school to do it for real, haha) and it would be more than worth it to me.

Wow, I almost forgot Raven's novels existed... Even though I am tangentially aware of the canon in it, Damuron and Canary and all that. Has no one translated that?? I would be excited to read the other gaiden stuff too! I should be able to work with scans if you already have the books, or you could send me things bweehee

Someone did a summary of Raven's book, but nothing as comprehensive as your Judith translation. I just ordered both sets and they'll be here by the end of the month, soooo...if you haven't found yours by then...

Yeah, I read those summaries too. It's not quite the same as reading it yourself, though (even if it has been translated) because I remember thinking, wow, this is probably why people used to respect Alexei, but I didn't really feel it, if that makes sense... blah blah blah

If you send them on, I will do my best to work on them for you! I looked around a little bit last night to try and find Judith again and I am still baffled, but I'll keep working on it.

Yeah, I really understand. I was happy for the information, but I wasn't as ;wwwww; as I got reading the real thing, as it were.
