Hana wants to know if Subaki still pretends to be perfect, and he's like, "Uh, except I am?" She recounts a story about how he got thrown from a perfectly stationary horse, and (I'm pretty sure) threatens to tell the whole army.

Subaki: Why are you so pissed at me all of a sudden?!
Hana: I'm sick of people talking about how handsome and flawless you are and how I can't live up to you
Subaki: People say that??
Subaki: I...
Subaki: I'm so happy.
Hana: I AM LIVING A LIE BY NOT SHARING YOUR "SECRET" IMPERFECTION, SUBAKI

Then they bicker over who Sakura would side with and how to address Sakura and you're not worthy of Sakura and OKAY PISTOLS AT DAWN ASSHOLE

Rinkah corners Subaki because in the previous battle, he followed the enemies in their retreat for a distance that she felt was extremely reckless. He's like, "I guess so... maybe... idk I can't remember, it was like... yesterday..." and when she presses he insists that he's too perfect to make silly mistakes like get sniped!

SUBAKI: Please, don't concern yourself with my well-being. My tactics are beyond reproach.

Subaki you are perfectly awful! I kind of love it. Anyway, Rinkah is agitated by his blase attitude and stomps off, which makes him wonder why she cares so much and then feel, guiltily, like he should apologize or something.

That... 4/5?? I found that pretty shippy?? She was worried about him and I wasn't expecting him to have a human feeling

Subaki hunts down Rinkah so that he can apologize. But it's too late! Rinkah brushes it off! Who is she to question his tactics!

He tries to tell her that what he meant to say was that, being a pegasus knight, he has a good vantage point of the battlefield, so he has a better perspective on what might be dangerous. She seems to get agitated again ("You can survey from the ground, too!!") and he backtracks some more because he's worried he's made her angry again, and then she gets agitated again ("So you think I'm short-tempered?!")

She storms off and he curses his big stupid mouth.

He tries to apologize to her, and she grumbles that he's the one who deserves an apology -- she was actually looking for him to say she's sorry for biting his head off. She admits that her judgment being questioned is kind of a trigger for her because she finds it difficult to make calm judgments in the heat of the moment, so...

Subaki says that it's basically the same for him, because he tries to do everything perfectly, so ANY questioning of his ANYTHING is... embarrassing.

That was a very promising relationship development, but then they're just like "So we're even!" "Okay, bye!" Shipping deflated. 2/5

Azura is attacked by an assassin?!? But Subaki is nearby and overhears shouting, and the assassin wasn't expecting backup. He takes off, but vows to return and finish the job.

Subaki is upset that their camp security was so imperfect, but he dismisses the whole thing as a kidnapping attempt. Azura doubts that's what it was, but doesn't explain any further.

3/5, that was unusually action-packed for a support scene.

Subaki is exhausted, but too perfect to recognize that sensation. He's been awake for, like, 24 hours, and Sakura is worried about him and somewhat dubious about his perpetually perfect status.

SAKURA: I know how hard you work to make it look easy. You don't have to pretend with me.

4/5 for that statement alone

Anyway, Subaki is horrified at the prospect that someone might have overheard that he has to work to be so spectacular at everything all the time, so he shushes her and takes off.

Corrin is impressed by Subaki's dedication to training, and he generously offers to let her watch his flawless technique so that she might improve herself. She admits that she doesn't have his confidence, and he points out that the best way to gain confidence is to practice! Want to spar? You're Lady Sakura's sister, after all.

SUBAKI: I've mastered every class of weapon.

I think that is demonstrably untrue, because you can only wield pikes. And you're only C class at that, too.

Anyway, his stomach starts growling, and when Corrin realizes what those noises are she's apologetic and suggests they go eat. But Subaki is mortified by this display of human frailty! He was doing it on purpose, you see, to... distract the enemy... I MUST TRAIN EVEN HARDER TO REGAIN MY FOCUS GOODBYE

Subaki, for the love of god, just eat a sandwich, 3/5

Subaki is eating too many sandwiches. His nonstop eating, bringing food with him everywhere, has been whispered about all throughout the camp. Corrin is concernannoyed, which is a new word I invented for this situation. Is this about the time she overheard your stomach growling?

His reasoning is that his stomach will never grumble again if he is never eating, so he will just eat all the time! He has carefully calculated how much food he can eat so that he can still stay in shape with his training. All the same, Corrin wants him to stop.

SUBAKI: But what do I do now?
SUBAKI: I'd be horrified if someone ever heard my stomach growl again.
CORRIN: Why do you care so much what other people think about you? No one would ever judge you for something so trivial--

Subaki: can't talk about it thanks lady corrin bye

Corrin resolves exastiredly to make sure he doesn't do anything else stupid. I don't think exastiredly is as good a word. 2/5

Subaki and Mozu have a conversation for the first time, and he vaguely knows who she is and she's like, "Aren't you the one everyone says is a genius?"

Yes. That is I. Please feel free to partake in my wisdom, young one.

Or something like that. A soldier comes rushing up to ask Subaki if he knows of any cure for colds, and Subaki rattles off a remedy. After the soldier leaves, Mozu is like, "Uh... I don't mean to be rude, but... there's a better way... The ingredients you suggested are expensive and hard to find right now... But if you do this other thing..."

Subaki is interested, as he hasn't heard of this before. He thanks her and resolves to catch up with the soldier and let him know of her suggestion. Then he will study harder to know all the things about folk remedies

4/5, surprised but he treated her with respect and was open to her correction and she wasn't intimidated by him and it was neat

Mozu seeks out Subaki happily, and he confirms that the soldier they were trying to help in support C got better the next day after trying her remedy! She's blushy and happy, and Subaki admits to being impressed by her knowledge of remedies. He went and read a bunch of books about medical practices, and her cure wasn't in any of them!

Subaki: Was it a secret remedy passed down in your family
Mozu: It's just... a home remedy.

She says it was just "everyday" knowledge and Subaki, with some amusement, wants to know if she has any more gems of "everyday" knowledge to share with him. She offers that she knows how to keep food fresh for a long time, and he's interested. She rattles off some facts and he asks if she will teach him more things! Mozu is super pleased.

5/5, wow, Subaki, you should try being nice to other people
