Fire Emblem: Fates liveplay! (inactive)

Shut up.

I don't think people livestream Nintendo 3DS without equipment and expensive/obnoxious jury rigging, so, screw that, even if I wanted to. I will update this post throughout playing on my commentary etc.

Corrin finds Azama sitting outside, seemingly asleep sitting up. But no! He is meditating. Ignorant foreigner Corrin wants to know what meditation is, and Azama offers to explain it to her.

Then he doesn't say anything. For a while she wonders what's up with him, and then she starts observing her surroundings in the silence, and then he goes, "That's it! That's meditation." Legit. Although in a non-dialogue medium, you want to not have any internal narration.

Anyway, she's impressed, and he's impressed by her commitment to getting less ignorant. She is unsure how to react to him because he switches from compliments to insults so fast and so cheerily. He is a master of negging. 3/5

Azama tells Sakura that he's always impressed by how kind she is. She should be super spoiled! I mean, she's a princess, and not only that, but the youngest child! She should be a nightmare.

Sakura tries to participate in this conversation, but Azama just continues talking without paying attention, musing about how fun it would be to be in her position, and how he's jealous of her, and then he leaves. Sakura goes, "What just happened...?" and I'm not sure either.

Azama has been contemplating Azura for a while, and she has noticed all the staring. She's inspiring and noble and hard-working and involved and yet...

AZAMA: You wish to save the world, and yet there is also this secret corner of your soul...
AZAMA: There, you feel that nothing can be done to help, and that the future can't be altered.
AZAMA: Sometimes I'm quite sure that you and I are very similar in that respect.

Azura says nothing, and when he pursues the topic, she dismisses him loftily and leaves. How intriguing.

Azama greets her cheerily and she is like, don't give me that, you don't care about me. He's thrilled that she knows him so well. As she suspected, he wants to talk more about the inner darkness that he decided he saw in her in the previous support.

AZURA: Say you were right about me. What then?
AZAMA: I would share my newfound knowledge with everyone and eagerly watch their reactions.

Oh stop it. Azura rolls her eyes and leaves, but he calls her back and she actually comes back? He offers to promise not to tell anyone. Maybe he'll just, like, keep her secrets.

She is still not buying what he's selling. He is totally into that. "You fascinating creature!"

Hana wanders a bit away from camp so that she can wage war against a nearby tree without anyone seeing, but Azama manages to be nearby enough to almost get killed. She says that the practice sparring they do at camp doesn't really do it for her, and he gets it. And he's impressed! He just also almost got killed.

Hana: I said I'm sorry already, god, some people are so touchy

omfg Rinkah is not here to make friends

Azama protests being called a 'heretic' because he's not at odds with his faith, like some lazy monk who thinks more about his own desires than his responsibilities! Rinkah thinks that sounds kind of like him, actually.

RINKAH: Ugh, whatever. Can you just tend to my cut, please?

For some reason, after all the insults and 'rude nonsense', Azama doesn't feel inclined to heal her out of the kindness of his heart. Weird! He proposes that she offer something in trade, and she says, "Yeah, I don't feel like doing that though."

AZAMA: Honestly, even talking to you is making me wish I had a different vocation.

Screw you, Azama! They storm off respectively, thinking the other one is a huge asshole. 1/5, amazing

Oboro has just finished cleaning up the big meeting tent... and now she's gonna polish everyone's armor! She is happily working away, talking to herself, and Azama has been watching her with bemusement for a few minutes by the time she notices him.

Azama: It's funny that you want to impress everybody so much. "Ooh, look at me, I'm cleaning the tent!" Haha, so stupid.
Oboro: Come over here and say that, motherfucker

Azama looks upon her demonic wrath and her black aura and is suddenly terrified. OKAY BYE OBORO
