The only good Xehanort is Xigbar, that's what I always say. And Saix under certain limited circumstances. The bitchier the better.
I just love drawing medals it's so funnnnn
The pull was a big nothing, though. KH Riku (twice), Bambi, TR Sora, Hades, KH2 Mickey (at least I can combine him with the one you get in the tutorial), regular Axel, Uniform Kairi, IXemnas, and HD Axel. No boosts or anything, and I'm spoiled by the latest global campaign (shock, global did something nice) and am sad I don't have any dots. At least there's HD Axel! He's full of angst about people he loves running away from him. Just stay in one place, don't have an identity crisis, and continue to exist, okay?
SO TRUE. Noooo, I can't help mourning for Isa when Saïx is around. :x
THIS IS SO TRUE.
AXEL! :D :D :D :D Oh man, I don't have HD Axel yet, I'm jealous! :x And yeaaah, I get that. But maybe they'll do another free daily draw event sometime soon! *can only hope*
I don't feel like I know enough about Isa to care particularly about him -- I haven't played BBS in a long time but I remember feeling like he was a dick back then too, including to his best friend, only with less reason? And we haven't seen enough about how Saix became a Xehanort to know when or how that went down, and when Saix went past the point of no return. This might be my biases, because I truly enjoyed Saix being a bitch in 358/2 Days, but I feel like Saix was still being "himself" when his and Axel's relationship burned to the ground. He still had his goal of taking down the Organization and everything!
I like the idea that as their lives became tenser and more complicated, they started finding their friendship (which had been strained by machinations of the Organization) less fulfilling; Axel was annoyed by Saix and found friends he preferred, who he cared about deeply; Saix was annoyed by Axel but also resented being moved on from; etc.... I mean, Axel was actively doing things for the purpose of alienating Saix during 358/2 Days, like that record-scratch moment when Axel talks about Zexion's death. So Saix threw himself more into the Organization's business, and thus opened himself up to more Xehanortification, or what have you.
So I didn't get enough attached to Isa to have anything to mourn, but there's so much of Saix that I'm curious about or interested in. I wrote a fic!
Ahh, see, I got a lot more of the 'long-suffering, sarcastic friend' vibe from Isa, with all of the teasing affection that goes with it. Saïx's frustrated middle management WAS pretty funny, but all his private scenes with Axel kind of creeped me out. Can't remember why, it's been a while... I should go back and replay it sometime, what a fun game, if heartbreaking.
Oooh, fic! And a liveblog! I will read them... when it's not 3am. Um. Yes. >>;;;
Totally agreed! I 100% believe that Isa and Lea were genuinely friends. They had goals and made plans and hung out together, and Isa genuinely liked him, and acting like a dick is just his preferred MO. He wants to be the cool and collected one, even if that means mocking his friend or enjoying watching him get his ass handed to him. (Lea was basically a hyper Hayner, as I recall.) (What we have here is basically the friendship of young Riku and Hayner?)
But since we only see them for, like, ten lines or something, almost all of their relationship is in my imagination, so it's harder to be emotionally attached to him.
...although now that I've mentally associated Isa with Riku I have given myself many more feelings... Fuck.
I did in fact spend the whole day rereading that liveblog wheeeee
*nodnodnod* Yeah, they were super great friends, which is why their super fucked up relationship in the end makes me so sad. (Lea is basically a ferret child, all energy and playfulness and getting into everything.)
That's fair! For me, it's enough to get attached, haha.
Whoops? You're probably right, though - if KH-era Riku had spent a decade at Maleficent's side, rather than being Sora'd, it definitely seems likely that he'd be the same kind of fucked up, miserable bastard Saïx is. :/
Yeah, Riku was a pretty cocky kid back on Destiny Islands, but also too cool for you. I could see him taking a similar approach to Sora in a playfight as Isa did. (A little more protective.) Then KH1 happened and all the self-esteem issues

Oh geegus, that's probably even worse than the time I rolled Paine at 16% four times in a row. (I gave up after that. It was definitely a sign.)
