Planet Ladder! Sharing the Seeu Love?
You know what? I don't really like pairing Seeu with Kagami anymore.
Kagami seems... I dunno, almost too sly to really have been deeply committed to Seeu. He made the sacrifice of his life for Seeu's not because he loved our favorite mad prince, but because Meishie told him that he thought that maybe if Seeu survived they could change the future. In the end, Kagami's every goal has been towards the future, and the only people who ever seemed to have an effect on him as PEOPLE were Meishie and Kaguya. I can't really describe Kagami's knowing, purposeful actions towards Seeu -- but "sly" is the best word I can think of. "Sly" isn't terribly romantic.
And I guess now that I have a better idea of how Kagami died, it seems like Seeu really is angry. Like instead of bringing back Kagami out of guilt for letting him die/being responsible for his death, he brought back Kagami because he felt like the boy owed him something after refusing to let Seeu die. Kagami sounded almost like he was taunting Seeu in volume 5 when he explained that Seeu was supposed to have died here, and Kagami stopped it. That's what I think, anyway.
Now I'm leaning towards pairing Seeu with Take. (I know, I know, Waseda Takeyoshi-san is currently an eight-foot-tall chicken. Let's overlook that and pretend he's human still.) It seemed obvious to me, after the scene at the end of the fifth volume, that the reason Seeu keeps shutting down emotionally when Kaguya talks to him about his old friends is due to mention of Take, and has nothing to do with Kagami. When she calls Gold "Kagami", Seeu's reaction is a cool, "Where did you hear that name?" It isn't until she starts talking about Take that he loses consciousness. And this impression is even more obvious in volume 5 -- where she writes him that letter. She introduces Kagami and Take, and he keeps reading until she mentions a reunion, at which time he begins to fall asleep again. But the telling point is that before he grays out, he's thinking, //Take...? Didn't I know somebody with that name... somewhere out there...?//
It's Take who calls up the emotional response in Seeu that's so strong that he has to shut down. Not Kagami.
If they somehow got Take into the body of a human doll, and he went up to Seeu and gave him that hug everybody promised him... can you even imagine what kind of drastic effect that would have on the whole story?
And, on a more thoughtful note: Take said something very unusual in volume 5. He said, thinking about Seeu, "It was so long ago. No one... will ever touch you again." Then we have this image of Human!Take, looking all wise and sad and stuff. So -- is it just me, or does this seem to indicate that Take has touched Seeu once before? It makes me THINK.
I love stuff that makes me THINK. ^_^ And, because it bears repeating: Koori no Mamono no Monogatari is cooler than you. Wild/Rapunzel is the best pairing I've ever seen in an outright yaoi series, I honestly think.
