Game Inquiry

I look back these days at some of my earlier translations and wonder how the people I double-checked with ever imagine they knew Japanese if they didn't A) correct me or B) shoot me where I stood for calling myself a translator. So much of what I put online is so dead wrong. "Yomarechimau" (kanji = yomu, read) somehow became "He's gone crazy!" instead of the pretty obvious "He can read me!"

Fortunately, they're mostly fixed. I'll work more on Dual tomorrow; I have the day to myself, so~

But in the meantime, query. I'm thinking of starting a journal roleplaying game, possibly because I hate myself, but more likely because I hate you. I have two different ideas and I'd like responses from anyone interested about whether or not they would play and which game would be their preference, or suggestions about them/plots/whatever. Don't ask me where these ideas came from, they're either a long story or completely nonsensical. Pie-chan made me do it. And Rachel-san, because she's never online anymore and thus didn't talk me out of it.

Game Idea 1 is a semi-historical game wherein we have a sort of organization/club of people who are "secretly" homosexuals. (The setting would probably be somewhere around 1850 Europe. The term "homosexual" was officially coined in 1869; this would be Victorian era.) In their normal lives these people can be anything -- loyal sons, fashionable debutantes, respectably married -- but what polite society doesn't know is that they're all bi-curious or gay-curious or just plain gay, and so on the sly......

[Edit: I'll provide the necessary "research" links. There won't be more than one or two, and no essays. In-depth research is optional but certainly not necessary. Since we'll probably be dealing with mostly the upper class -- if Joe Schome the accountant is buggering John Doe the tavern-keeper, they get arrested, no one cares; if Lord Vincent is buggering Duke Christopher, there are Factors To Be Considered if they're discovered -- they'll likely be so caught up in their personal day-to-day affairs and completely oblivious/apathetic to the state of the world in general that further research may not in fact be necessary. This is an age when instead of worrying about the Opium Wars and the slicing up of Africa, people were putting skirts on their piano legs in case anyone found them suggestive and arousing. If you don't know what's going on at that point in history, no one will notice. Possibly many of the real nobles didn't notice!]

Game Idea 2 is a modern game wherein we have, um, an evil corporation trying to take over the world. Players can be whatever they want, whoever they want, do whatever they want, but they'll probably mostly be working for an evil company that does evil deeds. I have some vague ideas about where we can take this, but primarily it just seems fun right now. XD

Hmm...I like both, but like the Sakusha-sama said, the first one, authenticity is a problem.

I'd be more willing to play the second one...if I was to join...which I probably will. Will it go farther then Jaune?
