Since Sasha really wouldn't appreciate jail-time, I was also thinking that meeting Coyote's family wouldn't be a good idea. ^^ Not to mention the massive headaches. On the other hand, Nathaniel's family of any sort would be welcome, provided they keep their tentacles to themselves. ^_~ Bini tte?
Regarding the Gypsy thing that popped up last night... It seems more startlingly apt the more I think about it. They DO both look the part, and I was trying to think of how to describe Jillia's dress sense to Nathaniel when he sees her out of the finery I failed but if I think about her as Romany it just sort of gets taken for granted that that's the style she would assume. And Sasha's attitude to life in general seems very Rom indeed (for example, outsiders = inferior and Family = the only worthwhile human beings ^^ ) although I imagine he would've disliked any connection with them on general principle.
As for the probabilities for blackmailing Nathaniel into letting Jillia get involved, in my original conception she's almost total noncombatant. Although she does know a small amount of self-defense aikido that Sasha taught her and Vadim taught her to manage a gun -- his family enjoyed the whole wilds-of-New-England thing a lot, and went hunting, so he learned -- I just don't know how she'd react if actually forced to fight with her life at stake. (For the record, uncanny speed fits into Sasha's thing nicely.)
On the other hand, I could see her working at some actual magical talent, so going there...
The rest of the Family doesn't show many indications. If anybody has anything, Sasha has a band of empathy too narrow to be of any practical use -- I mentioned that chance once -- and Marilyn has her psychic ability, but no real magical talent. Daryl gives me nothing, and neither does Vadim, but for some reason I find Theo a REMARKABLE candidate for some kind of sorcery, he fits into the role in my head with rather abrupt naturalness for one of Sasha's kids. (I mean, there was Marry, but she was openly and entertainingly so and humored as such. It was a cute hobby in her.)
Your post brought on a mental bit of half-dream conversation that went something like this --
Jillia: Don't you dare keep me out of this! Who's fault is it that there are dragons in Chicago? Nathaniel: *grimly* Mine. And I'm going to -- Jillia: It's MINE. I brought you here knowing you might bring trouble and willing to accept that. So, let me just call everyone I know...
I would've pushed the Alison thing, but there's no point rushing that until we've done her actual wedding, and there's no point rushing the wedding since it's so close... ^^
