Verbatim quote of a post I made in Fuitadnet's forums

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, and HAPPY ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS THREAD. In case anybody's wondering, no, I still haven't heard a single word about my refund. Sometimes it's nice to know that somebody cares and that intelligent, competent human beings have your money in hand. If I ever wanted to flush money down the toilet again and get treated like I myself had crawled out of the toilet, I would totally pay for Fuitadnet service again.

Seriously, what the hell is going on with these people? Is Kumar done with his month of sick leave? Has switching CEOs left the employees drooling and institutionalized, unable to take care of their responsibilities, the way they apparently were in the first week of the switch? Are they waiting for some mythical Monday wherein the sun will burn out and they'll be absolved of their responsibilities, since all human life will die out? If it's not one excuse, it's another, and if it's not any excuse at all, it's only because I'm being totally ignored. If you were a real company, one with a phone number and an actual way to contact someone with authority or report customer abuse, this would be inexcusable as well as a blatant attempt to rip innocent people off. I would love to contact the new CEO and share the story, but I can't trust the competence of ANYONE involved in this joke of an organization anymore.

It has been one month and one week since my refund request was essentially flushed down the toilet with my money, my respect for Fuitadnet, and my good nature, and I have not heard from a single person since then.

This is disgusting, I'm sorry.

And I will not shut up until I get my money back, if I have to complain until long after my original account would have been closed anyway. I'm not going to take this crap.

And the moral, my Livejournal friends, is to never, ever give money to fuitadnet.com.

Oh my GOD. *throws confetti* Yay for the one month anniversary of your thread and not getting money!
(Um ... perhaps not.)

Hahahaha, Seraphna can kiss my ass, that bitch. And seriously. What the hell is wrong with Kumar? O_o.

wow, and to think I was considering switching over to them from my current service... I'm glad you said something, I had not heard anything negative about them! At least my current host says outright that they don't give refunds, ever, for any reason. >_>; But they've been pretty good to me so I keep paying them every year.

An Epic Tale of Destruction and Redemption

It's a destined classic fit for the whole family. From the very BEGINNING I knew it was going to be terrible: I was seduced by the space but it took nearly two weeks to set up my account with them after they took my money, as there was a mix-up about where my DNS was pointing. That entire period it seemed like Fuitadnet had a total of two employees running support, and they kept complaining that it was their "dry month" and that "normal service was much better". But they were lying. At the end of December my site was wiped out by a virus that hacked thousands of websites through a security hole in MySQL, and I knew it wasn't Fuitadnet's fault, didn't blame them for it, but I asked them to restore the site from backups -- I hadn't updated it in like months, and had a week ago left the computer with my backups for the semester break.

They said, verbatim, "We don't have any backups right now. You're on your own."

No BACKUPS? A quote-unquote professional webhosting that doesn't have BACKUPS?

This, on top of the fact that it was physically impossible for anyone to access any FTP account I might have set up for their use, and in fact had to spend nearly a week haunting mIRC channels waiting for a support person to get on so that I could ask them how to set up MY FTP account, the MAIN one... Well, I was disgusted with their service and had fallen quite out of lust with all the shiny space they offered.

For the last month and a half I have been sneered at, talked down to, and given excuse after excuse as to why they were getting to my refund request, really. One woman snippily informed me when I first posted that only one person at their organization can handle refunds and he's on sick leave until Monday. "Monday. Lunes. First day of many characters. You know the day?" As if I hadn't asked a perfectly reasonable and polite question. Only the NEXT Monday he wasn't back. And the NEXT Monday she promised to forward my ticket number to him. And the Monday after THAT my patience was gone.

I did nag them enough finally, by the way, to get my refund today; it's sitting in my Paypal account basking me with its warm glow. I went back to my old webhosting, which I absolutely and totally recommend (http://www.icdsoft.net) -- they have considerably less space, but they have a $20 discount off the rates if you're there for more than a year (and my plan is $5/mo) and TECH SUPPORT NINJAS. They guarantee that any support request you make will be answered within the hour, but personally I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes. When my website was hacked THERE, they restored the whole thing immediately and none of my regulars ever noticed it had been hacked. They're professionals. Fuitadnet is run by what I estimate to be ten college students -- hence why their support is "dry" during summer and semester breaks.

Another interesting note is that ICDSOFT had the backups of my website... Even eight months after I'd left them. I had updated the site since then, of course, so they didn't upload those, but I feel the difference in service is marked.

I'm such a fangirl of the tech support ninjas, it makes me sad that I ever left them. But I went crawling to them, and they agreed to take me back, and give me my discount again and everything. <3

oh, well, ha XD my current host provides very little (e-mail only) tech support, no backups, and no refunds, and they charge you for a year in advance, and no subdomains either. Sound like bastards, right? (But at least they tell you up front!) But their service works and it's $48 annually for a shitload of space and all the bandwidth I can eat (well, 40gb/mo), so since I've never done anything more complicated than set up a mysql database, I don't mind. If I needed tech support I'd probably go with a different service though. XD;
