I was meandering about in Orgrimmar (Horde capital city) in World of Warcraft, and I'm chatting with Drew, and I see this level 60 troll rogue named Kumar. And I think to myself, "Wow, that name is really familiar. Where do I know a Kumar from? Is he from the WoW community? Is he a WoW blogger?"
Then I remember. Kumar is the fucker who was the only person who could possibly give me a refund in all of Fuitadnet for their sucky, sucky webhosting. Oh yes, I remember. "Be PATIENT. Kumar will look at it on MONDAY. Lunes. The first day of many calendars. You know it?" "Kumar's been out sick all week. When he gets back he'll look at it." "Maybe I should forward your ticket number to Kumar."
...I bet the entire two weeks he was "out sick" he was "out sick" grinding that rogue to level 60.
Re: Boston
My mother has been complaining about my decision to get an apartment in Boston instead of living in the dorm and coming back home every summer -- since January. She was still whining about it two days ago, trying to get me to call around and see if dorm life wasn't as bad as I knew it would be, because dorms are the same everywhere.
Today I brought her the printouts for several room listings -- all reasonably priced, and all with friendly-seeming female advertisers. Several with cats.
Today she got very excited about it. As a matter of fact, she told me the very same thing I've been telling her for months, that she has been struggling desperately against.
"Hey, if you could move in in June, you could get a job there NOW, and get familiar with the city. If you get a decent job there with the library -- why -- you don't even need to come back next summer!"
Note to self: Next time, spare yourself the trouble, just provide her with the opportunity to come up with my conclusions as if they were her ideas.
