Life is full of issues

Issue A:
So my boss would totally have fired me if I were actually working for him, and this weren't just a summer swap with the Skinner Foundation. Lalala~ I'm going to be late to work~ again~ He's going to spend another hour lecturing me about my sleeping habits and leave more condescending stickies about college sleep studies on my monitor.

Issue B:
Our washing machine broke last weekend -- the day before I was going to do laundry. So I've been scrounging for things to wear all week. I have one wearable shirt that isn't wintery left. The new washer (damn you, landlord, for promising to replace it "when it breaks again" instead of, you know, after the third time in a year that it broke) arrives on Tuesday. I was considering myself fortunate -- I'd be able to spend the weekend in pajamas and then scrounge by two work days, that's all.

But then I remembered last night that my parents are visiting for no fucking reason this weekend. We're going to go out and do things. I have to wear clothes and I have one shirt left.

I know it's not her fault the washer broke, but I am resenting my mother something fierce for this.

Oh well. I'll call her and make her bring up two of my t-shirts from storage. If she wanted me to dress up, too fucking bad. (We don't know where there's a local laundromat either~)

Kay, darling: Google is your friend. (http://maps.google.com/maps?client=safari&rls=en&q=02130%20laundromat&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl)

And you can just wash stuff in the sink with a little dish soap (or if need be, shampoo), rinse them under the tap and hang them over the shower curtain. I do it all the time. :-D

I was about to protest, "but that makes them all stiff and gross," but then I remembered that there's nothing wrong with our washer. It still makes me nervous -- I'm uncomfortable about ruining the clothes somehow, which is the weirdest thing, considering the way they normally get cleaned.

Depressingly, that map only confirms that there's no laundromat in the vicinity that wouldn't require a long bus ride with all my laundry.

Buy new clothes! :-D

You know what the title of this entry rhymes with? "Life is full of tissues". Just letting you know.

*sleeps on you~*

I wish I could visit, but if I take any time off, I might get fired from my non-job! XD

Suddenly, your job makes more sense to me.

Your boss amuses me, because I'm at a safe distance. His zany antics are straight out of a sitcom.

I'll e-wash your clothes!
