Conditioned response: Not again nono
My CNN newskitty reports that a small airplane or maybe a helicopter or something, no one knows, just crashed into a highrise in Manhattan like a half-hour ago.
I want someone to tell me this wasn't terrorists, it was just human stupidity. I'm kind of really freaking out about this. I have-- I have this thing about 9/11. And New York. And buildings.

*hug* I'm sure it's fine, and I didn't mean to insult you. I just hate the thought of this being spun into furthering some idiot's political agenda, when it's so likely just a case of a very unfortunate accident.

Thanks for the support. ^^ Really it's more a gut reaction -- I have very strong, nonsensical visceral ties to NYC. I think that if it had been San Fransisco I wouldn't have freaked out that hard.

Anyway, I think it is sad how reactionary the media is about this type of thing now. There was nothing to worry about, but I am sure people from all over, like you, were freaking out because of the way it was portrayed. Of course, it is still very sad for those baseball players(?) and their families. I have not actually read about it. I am gathering this more from what people on this post and at work said. Anyway...yeah..so...*hugs*

about how much bandwidth CNN was using. CNN was trying to downplay it. (He copied me several IM's from his superiors about how the article up on the website did a terrible job of it.)But I lived in NYC, and my family lives on Long Island, and my stepfather was IN the Trade Centers when they were hit on 9/11. So the hair-trigger is, for me, partly personal. I told Yasha that if it had been San Fransisco I probably wouldn't have actively hyperventilated. I would've been worried, yeah, but not really freaking out. Ehe.
Those poor chickens were heroes, man.
