NaNo update

My tally up through today: Byakuya/Yoruichi at 1430, Rukia/Orihime at 1401, Kenpachi/Yachiru at 358 (I'd already written part of it, that was how much it took to finish), Kira/Kiyone at 3589 (er).

I am at: 6778. That's about 1695 words a day, which means I met my quota. WOOOO.

Also rewatched all of GetBackers, and have concluded that sometimes, Bleach filler is nice. As long as we don't get the second coming of the Bount arc, it's vastly preferable to have eight episodes of nonsense, half fun crack and half totally lame "plot", than to have them make up an entire story arc that doesn't make sense and then say, "And that's how they defeated Aizen. The end," while the manga chugs on.

Re: Filler Comparison - A-men.

Kira/Kiyone? I'm intrigued. Tell me more, bard of my f-list.

Also, in case you ever track rates of fandom-infection, I have now spread XXXholic on to Amanda after you got me onto it.

Well, Kira is kind of spineless and depressed, he could use a tough girl who'd shout down anyone who bullied him. :D That is not the fic that I wrote, but it would be awesome. I came up with the pairing during crack RP (Rangiku was pressuring Kira to know who his first girl was, and he was drunk enough that I had to think up someone for him to have gotten laid with, and I knew I was going to pick one of the Kotetsu sisters and I figured Kiyone was the more likely choice) and I've been obsessed with it ever since. It would work for him, I think. XD

Yes, poor systematically disassembled Kira. :( A nice rowdy girl would do him a world of good. :D

Tangentially, I'm now imagining Kiyone dragging him off to a drinking party, and he and Isane end up taking shelter in the same corner, trying to get some breathing room from the more festive party-goers. XD

Less than two hours since this pairing is introduced to me, and I'm already coming up with potential sabotage of it, even though I love it.

But for either of them, I picture the woman being in armor, and Kira in a princess costume, taking shelter against their chest. ^.^ <3

*snicker* Well, sabotaging pairings is fun.

I think Isane would rather be the princess, but she has no tall handsome prince. :\ She's taller than everyone. She's taller than Aizen! The only guys who out-tall her are like, Kenpachi and Renji. Her "secret report" is so sad. XD When she got to 5'7" she was like, "I don't want to be any taller than this," so she stopped eating nutritional foods and only ate gruel. XD But she gained six and a half inches anyway. I feel so bad for her.

Oh I agree that she'd want to be the princess, which is why Kira would work for her. If they hit it off well, he'd be more than happy to shower her with affection and gifts and all sorts of cliched romanticism (as best he could manage between nervous fits) and she'd enjoy every minute of it, and fuss over any injury he might get in return (which he would love ^_^).

The difference between the two Kotetsu sisters comes down to the taller one being therapeutic, the redhead is rehablitative. :D Just as affectionate, but also just as determined to help rebuild him, on HER schedule.

When you first mentioned you were writing Byakuya/Yoruichi, I thought...naaaah. Then I saw it again and thought...hmmm. Now, I'm to the point of ....oooooooh!

My thoughts are that of a slow monkey. It's true.

I still don't understand how it can take less time to make a show than a manga. Shouldn't the anime always be behind?!?! So confusing.

It more or less comes down to that you can fit more action into a 22-minute (19 if you discount the opening, ending, preview, and omake) animated segment than into a 15 - 20 page manga chapter.

I'm just wondering HOW they're going to fit in filler this time around... extended side-story in the mortal world? Flashbacks?
