Medieval Women has the worst final EVER.

She foists this on us: we are to choose one of the women available for midterm topics, and make our final project on her. We read whatever it is that she wrote, and then we go hunting for critical articles analyzing it. No fewer than five, including encyclopedia articles. Then, once we have them, we have to type up an annotated bibliography using them. Then... we pick two of them to actually use in the paper. They must be a minimum of 15 pages each. Now we are required to write a works cited page to go over the bibliography to go along with our final decision.

We are required to provide photocopies of BOTH articles, as well as the encyclopedia submissions, in our final project... highlighted and annotated. That's 32 pages minimum off the bat -- before you even begin writing the paper.

So lets move on to writing the paper, shall we? In the actual paper we summarize, analyze, and interpret the articles we chose. Then we turn them to the point of our paper, which is yet another topic. There is a minimum of THREE DRAFTS for the paper -- recommended four. All of these will be handed in. Since the paper is 6-8 pages, that's another 30 pages right there.

Then you have to be creative. You get to write... poems! Or a short story! Based on your 60 pages of research. ...And then a 1-2 page discussion of why it's relevant.

I work and I slave,
just to meet the minimum --
praying for a "B"

Do you think that would count? I don't even know if I'd need the discussion of its relevancy.

...Oh, yeah. It's due Monday. Along with a second final that is bullshit, but only [ONLY!] ten pages.

Perhaps a more apporopriate theme for my creative haiku would be ritual disembowelment.
