So, in other news, because despite what that topic makes it sound like, I'm actually in a very good mood overall.

Classes: The new ENG 210 has only two textbooks (which I can pretty much get offline) instead of thirteen, plus the professor has a quiet smile and is very enthusiastic about his subject matter -- tragedy -- in his quiet way. Also, he let us out an hour and a half early from a three hour class. Score. I'm pretty much set in all these classes now.

Recreation: I've wanted to play Chrono Cross ever since hearing Schala's theme made me wonder about its ending... sadly, I left it at home. O_o So I've been playing Chrono Trigger instead. Also, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, which takes place in AU-3 Ivalice. I've also been writting lots of things for the [livejournal.com profile] temps_mort comm, but they're moving very fast lately. ^^;;;;; I only finish the pieces as other challenges go up in their place. I have two drabble fics... Other than those things, I've been phenomenally bored. I should really... work on something. But I'm still lazy.

RP: Well, let's see. Coyote bought Sasha pretty much a department store for Christmas, plus a pair of rings for them to be happily committed with (committed... to each other, or to a psychiatric ward? we'll see) and has decided he will never ever move Sasha from Chicago in spite of the constant itch to run from his grandmother. Sasha is Relieved. Sasha is also finally getting a decent relationship going with his latest adoptee. Nobody can explain why Bini fixated on him when they near-constantly misunderstand and misread each other, but Bini couldn't possibly be happy unless Sasha is happy with her first. He's going to work on not traumatizing her. In the meanwhile, Jillia and Nathaniel have successfully avoided future disaster -- at least she didn't panic like Sasha did; somehow Neesama and I always wind up discussing horribly bad potential outcomes that don't actually happen when played through in RP -- and are currently engaging in lots of sex, and seducing an archangel for fun. They may move on to a succubus after that. But at any rate, Jillia seems to be capable of having children after all (doctors said no; archangel said yes) and now there's the question of having a little dhampyre around to raise before she asks Nathaniel to make her a vampire. So many things. And that's only the two main couples.

Friends: Well, suffice to say I'm worried. Losing friends is sad.

Quote of the Week: "someone like that is a stupid fucktard hoping for crying weepweep sentiment involving flowers, puppies, and small tow-headed children awkwardly reading out the names of the fallen." --quotha the wonderful Ka-san. Not even because it agrees with my opinion, this really has nothing to do with the actual argument... because it's just a really, randomly beautiful and poetic sentence. XD Read it. It's like wonderful, angry modern poetry. You are my hero, Ka-san.

Albeit, one who might be mistaken for my mother. Curse my long-standing politeness!

"Now 125 ounces!! 25% more vs 100 ounces!!" --my bottle of Xtra laundry detergent
Dude. No way. Are you trying to tell me that... 25... is... 25 percent... of 100?! It's madness. It'll never work. It boggles the mind. Surely this is some horrible horrible joke. But then again, I'm no mathematician, so... Oh dear God, what if it IS true?!?!?!?!

"A really good reality show for gay people would be five gay men dying of AIDS." --Julie Millam, director of the Montana Family Coalition, regarding Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
I was thinking that a really good reality show for the Montana Family Coalition would be a show where all the political conservatives who would take pleasure in watching the horrible deaths of innocent people who just happen to disagree with them are locked in an underground holding cell without food, water, or ventilation for six months. We would, however, give them one gun. That's what makes the show exciting.

In May, an apartment complex in Riad was bombed. This was, to all appearances, just your average Middle East incident of general displeasure.
Reporter: "It could be Al Qaeda."
My Dad: "Or it COULD be Adolf Hitler. In that case, we should fight World War II all over again!"

ADDENDUM
"I'm not ashamed of my sexuality." --Carmen Electra
Isn't she, um, straight? Well, boy, I'm glad those horrible heterophobes aren't getting her down! I was SO WORRIED that Carmen Electra might feel like the victim of bigoted prejudice somehow because she's a gorgeous straight supermodel, but... whew. My mind at ease.

Will the friends and allies of Silvermyth please stop posting in my LJ. None of you are convincing me that I should understand her or see things her way; all you are convincing me of is that she can't do her goddamn fighting for herself, or take the consequences like her action as an adult. And, for your information, I don't coddle infants.

You can not -- I repeat, can not -- tell me that I should see things from her perspective. Sorry. The mistake was hers. She's the one who has to realize that what she said was WRONG (no conditions, no "but you should've...", no "and by the way, you're mean because...") and understand my perspective.

So no more of you people randomly commenting or IM'ing me to tell me that "She's really a good person" or "You just need to understand that she..." Got it?

Jesus. Some people can't tell the difference between a rant that wants other people's opinions on the same issue, and a rant that wants other people to be pissed too and be all sympathetic and agreeing and such. XD If I want your opinions, I'll ask for them, O Friends-of-Myth!
